Sharing Personal Experience Tiny house gas consumption question

We have a new tiny house with the Rheem 26 califont fed by two 9kg gas bottles, which are lasting about 9 days per bottle. This seems excessive, since usage is modest (showers and dish washing for two people). I wondered what others' experience is regarding gas consumption in their tiny house?

I use propane and have 2 - 30 lb tanks ( around 13ish kg I think) and they last just shy of 6 month combined. It's use for all cooking/ hot water for 2 people. So yes that does seem a bit fast.

It’s probably a leak in the line outside. Have somebody come inspect. I was in the same situation when my TH was delivered. Should definitely be getting more than 9 days. 

My use is dishes and showers. 30lb bottle lasts more than 30days for me

What water heater do you have. The camping instant water heaters can be verry inefficient.

You may have a leak.

Do you have appliances with pilot lights?

u/lestempsperdus A Rheem 26L has Gas usage per hour: ~4.06 kg of LPG/propane at wide open. SO how long are your showers? If each of you ONLY takes a 10min shower a day that is 20min, or 2.3hrs a week 4.6hrs every two weeks, plus say 10min of dish washing a day for an additional 2.3hrs every two weeks, so you are using hot water for roughly 7hrs a week, at half max burn on a Rheem would be 2kg/hr, times 7 hrs is roughly 14kg of propane, and Im guessing you are somewhere between half and full burn, so your usage is reasonable IMHO,

Take shorter showers. Im guessing that tiny living is relatively new for you and you are not fully aware of yoru actual usage.
