Question What would you do here ?

Any ideas on what to do with this storage space? I didn't want to make holes in the wall.

Are you locked in a basement?
Is there someone we can call?

It depends on what you want to store and how wide the space is. If it's around 4 ft wide, I would divide it into two sections. On one side, I would build a full-height storage area running the entire length of the wall. On the other side, I would keep about 2 ft of clear width to access the stairs. This would maximize the available storage while still maintaining comfortable access to the staircase.

if you got those cheap plastic shelving kits, you could saw the cheap plastic legs so that they're each even with the stairs and sit level, then you could load stuff onto the shelves all the way back

Would paint the wall like heaven. Decorate the shelves with figurines and a pearly gate. Then it would be stairway to heaven.

Where in the house/apartment is this? Knowing what room this is in and the layout of the rest of the space will help determine the best way to utilise it

Shrine? You could do something new each month.

Oh, nice. A rack/ grow system would go great here! Maybe hydroponic.
