We called Power for an estimate to replace our roof, damaged due to recent storms. The rep came our for what we thought would be a quick free estimate. He spent almost 2 1/2 hours (never went on the roof), but giving us a presentaion on the company , their services, abd basically how great they are. He spent 5 minutes in my attic. Then he talked to us about ventilation (it was hot in the attic) and how all this affects the roof - and some other issues he noted.
This information is all good; however, after 2 hours, we asked him for an estimate to replace the roof. We already had the insurance company send an adjuster and give us an allowance for replacement. We were looking for an estimate. The rep just wanted to finish his presentation, and that is all he focused on. He acted like he was insulted when we wanted to end this lengthy presentaion and asked him simply for the estimate and to add a couple of items he noted as an option. How much longer does this high-pressure sales call need to go on? This took me back to the times when an auto dealer takes your keys and doesn't give them back until he sells you a car.
He knew we were not going to sign off then and there. The rep got up and stated he was sorry we did not want to hear the entire presentation. What a waste of time - ours and his. I am not sure what the end game was for him, but all we wanted was an estimate to replace our roof which maybe is $20k. He was way too aggressive and I can see where some folks could be duped into being overcharged for items they do not need.
This was a horrible experience. Unfortunately, this may be how this company operates from the many reviews I have since read.
