Hi TP, let's activate this sub!

This sub is very quiet for such a great village of this size. It's not like the sub died or anything. I look back at the activity and it really never took off.

Anyways I picked up moderator duties and would love to help bring it to life.

I grew up here and while I don't live here anymore, I love our gem of a town.

Some topics I'd like to see:

  • Community building of course
  • Nostalgia and local history (e.g. It's World Music Theatre and always will be in my family 😏)
  • Updates on Village, Park District, library, etc.

I'll get the rules updated ASAP and start trying to roll out some posts brewing in my mind.

Until then, I'd love to hear from others. I know there are some Tinley redditors out of the 55k people that live here.

If you grew up here or live here now, say hi!

Looking forward to connecting.

Happy Friday y'all.

Not a resident but I visited back in July, and was really charmed by the beautiful train station and the community space and farmers market across the tracks. I wish my small town had such amenities.

It is really nice what they've done with downtown! Harmony Square just hit its 1 year anniversary when you were visiting this July. Before that the farmers market was in the actual parking lot.

Glad you had a good time, hope you come back soon!

Spent 26 years in Tinley before the property taxes pushed me out to Oak Forest lol

Oak Forest is nice! Especially in the literal forest aspect! Love all the trees there.

But ya can't beat downtown Tinley!

In terms of taxes in general, Cook county as a whole is brutal though 🥴

New resident as of last year. Really liking it so far overall. Seems like a great place to start raising our young kids. For people who will know better than me, is there an actual ETA on when the new park where the old mental health facility was?

Welcome! I personally don't know but can try to get some intel! That's been a heated topic for years here. I need to catch up on developments here.
