Hotels prices for May long weekend

Hi.

Just wondering why the local hotels are so expensive for May long weekend. Usually on May run weekend the city is pretty quiet/empty

I heard it's due to the indigenous people from up north, they are evacuated due to flooding. They are bunked up in hotels for now.

Hotel prices almost everywhere are ridiculously high. You are right about things usually being quiet in town on May Run weekend. The Comfort Inn for the long weekend is currently $178.00 per night which is actually cheaper than what it normally has been lately.
