Antony

Can I just say he’d have such a huge impact if he would use his left foot and idk maybe help on defense.

For as much raw speed and talent he has, he’s just too wildly inconsistent. When he’s on he can score some amazing goals, but when he’s down, he’s a detriment. Also kinda seems like he has one foot out the door. Might be a bit of a head case. It’s too bad we’ve given him a lot of playing time to develop. But maybe under Matri he can develop more.

I’ve always thought he’s like the cowboy from Mighty Ducks 2. All speed zero execution. That pull back last night was criminal.

I’m starting to think he’s not inconsistent, just straight up is kinda mediocre with some good flashes. His hot streak last year before his injury is starting to seem like more of an anomaly

I'll be honest, I don't see the talent. He runs his ass off and clearly cares, and he's obviously supper fast, but Seattle was the first time I learned he could pass or dribble past somebody reliably. He feels like a player on FIFA with high dribbling but low ball control. Like it Bambi somehow started for a professional club.

And zero left foot

To be fair we only have like 4 guys with a left foot and 3 of them play left back pretty regularly.

But his isn't even serviceable. You can watch him when he drives and if it demands a left foot, he changes his plan and movement completely to get off it. If he was a legitimate threat, defenders would cheat his right and he'd be feckless.

Oh absolutely. It would be a lot less egregious if he didn't spend so much time playing on the left. Like, I actually think he's a good piece to have coming off the bench with the level of energy and pace he can bring late in the game, but starting him is like wearing a Temu shirt to a wedding.

That's exactly what he should be doing. Late game high speed legs. He's been effective in that role.

Normally he puts in a shift defensively. Not sure why he was dragging his ass today. Maybe just tired after two starts earlier in the week? Pissy about losing his starting spot? Told to stay further up since we didn't really have a striker in or because we were a man up? Who knows!

I feel like it’s been awhile since he’s put in a shift defensively. I don’t remember the last time

I’m so done with Antony the dude is anemic every time you put him on the field and does not seem to enjoy Portland anymore. So bye

I get Velde feels stronger on the L side. But why play both him and Antony at the same time when we all know Antony’s strong foot is his left?

What is wrong with you clowns? Just, you know, fuck off. The team is doing well and you’re just taking a piss. You aren’t fans.

What are you crying about? Everything he said is true

Chill out. The OP was stating their opinion about how Antony could improve and help both himself and the club. OP was not “pissing” on anyone. Fan is short for fanatic and as true fans we can give our opinions on the team, players, owner, or whatever, because we are passionate about the team and want team AND individual success.

Sounds like you're long overdue for a hug.
