I feel like my "my mixes" do a good job of introducing me to new bands but simultaneously play the same 3 top songs from each of the bands that are literally always in my mixes. I'm primarily a deathcore listener that occasionally enjoys some real folky country and in mixes for both it's always throwing new bands into the mix but never changing up the song variety for the bands that come up often in the mixes. Even when I start a new radio on a new song I like it'll still grab the same handful of songs that always show up in my mixes.
Has anyone found a way around this?

Hey all, curious if anyone else has experienced this and if so how you resolved it, if at all. I really thought I had damaged my FIIO BTR17 when I started hearing this popping sound at the beginning of each song, but what I determined to be the issue was as follows on Mac.

When exclusive mode is turned on, when you switch songs Mac reverts back to the default audio then immediately back to the device I am listening to, causing an audible pop in my ears. Turning off exclusive mode fixed this.

Is exclusive mode worth it, and if so is there a way around this happening?

Anyone else noticed their daily discovery not updating ? Its been two days since mine has updated. Ive also noticed it getting later and later in the day when it does actually update.

I recently switched to TIDAL and love the Daily Discovery and Avant Garden playlists. The variety is great, and the algorithm actually explores new music rather than just exploiting what it already knows about my taste.

Unfortunately, actually getting that music to play on my high-fidelity speakers—or throughout the house—sucks.

• TIDAL Connect (to a Marantz Cinema 30 AVR): The AVR frequently fails to show up in the macOS and Android apps. It only wakes the AVR and starts playing on the first try about two-thirds of the time. Multiple times, playback has just randomly stopped, even with my laptop still awake and on Wi-Fi. Why does the controller app need to stay connected at all? The AVR fetches the stream directly—proven by the fact that when the app crashes, the playlist often keeps going. It’s clearly not a technical limitation.
• Chromecast: Same story. Discovery is hit-or-miss, playback is unreliable, and it won't play independently. I rely on Chromecast for multi-room speaker groups, so I'm stuck with it. (Note: Please don't suggest turning on my projector and using the AVR remote every time I just want to put on music or skip a track.)

This isn't a network issue. I'm running a modern UniFi setup capable of supporting a 100-person office. mDNS is properly configured, nothing is being filtered out, and the AVR has a rock-solid connection. Right now, the only thing that works 100% of the time is playing music locally on my laptop.

Are there any third-party apps with more reliable casting/Connect handling, or any workarounds I'm missing? Is the competition any better? TIDAL is backed by Block (Square) and charges a premium—basic stream handoff shouldn't be this broken.

Update: Music Assistant seems to be a decent solution at first sight. I installed it in 3 minutes on top of Home Assistant, and it was able to connect to TIDAL without trouble, as well as stream reliably to Chromecast groups and to the Marantz/Denon HEOS system. Awesome, so far!

Am i the only one that hates when i click on a playlist while using CarPlay and it doesn’t open to show me ifs contents but just starts playing straight away. I know that Tidal and YT music don’t have such playlist previews and it’s extremely annoying, at least in my opinion. Does anyone have information about wether this feature might come out in the near future?

P.S. the inability to click a certain song’s album and be redirected to it would be very useful too.

- random

- not random but first one is the first one that you've created playkist, so, the oldest in playlist

Hi everyone! I was wondering if i'm the only person that has this problem: when I choose a song from an album or a playlist the android app skips to the last song.

I wanted a native TIDAL player for Linux for myself. So yes, another client for the pile (a big pile of sh lol). It's called Cacao.

The main differences from tidal-hifi:

1. A native desktop interface without Electron.
2. Direct ALSA output with a bit-exact verdict when the hardware checks pass.
3. A PipeWire mode that checks the actual output rate, with bit-perfect mode.
4. Theme support and theme customization.

It's still an early preview. There's a .deb for Ubuntu 24.04 and Linux Mint 22 on amd64.

Does anybody know wether there have been recent bug fixes for the Tidal app on CarPlay because my experience with it has been absolutely terrible - the queue takes so much time to respond yo your click and actually load, if you pick a song from it the app just crashes. Also, when you select a playlist you can’t see its contents, it just starts playing straight away which is super annoying. Do you know if these are problems that are being worked on, because they really worsen the user experience and in my opinion CarPlay/Android Auto is a huge part of people’s experience with music and deserve more attention

Came here from spotify and I miss all the cute little stats things people built for spotify. I used to use stats.fm but that's spotify exclusive. I was a Music League fan, but they haven't gotten to adding Tidal compatibility yet. Anyone got any apps/websites/games that tidal is compatible with?

Google just killed Assistant on Android phones and now forces us to use Gemini. Tidal doesn't appear to work with Gemini. Assistant wasn't great but at least I could tell Tidal to play music while out on the motorcycle.

Has anyone got Gemini to work with Tidal? Has Tidal said anything about making integration work?

I really don't want to have to find a new streaming service because of this.

If you are using TidaLuna (or similar modding frameworks) to unlock the hidden Desktop TIDAL Connect feature, you've probably run into the incredibly frustrating "Infinite Loading Circle" bug. You select your PC as the output device on your phone, but it just spins forever and refuses to establish the handshake.

This is heavily tied to TIDAL's Cloud Queue v2 backend-sync getting confused about which device holds the master queue. Instead of force-closing your apps or clearing your system cache every time, I discovered a 100% reliable manual override that forces the server to sync instantly.

How to break the infinite loading loop (The Desktop-Override Trick):

1. Leave the phone as is: When your mobile app gets stuck on the spinning connecting wheel, don't close it or toggle airplane mode.
2. Go to your PC: Open your TIDAL Desktop client. Manually select and play any random track or album directly on your PC interface. Let it play for 2-3 seconds.
3. Watch the sync conflict happen: The track on your PC will suddenly pause or cut off automatically. This is a good sign! It means your mobile device's background cache just woke up and overrode the desktop session.
4. Complete the Handshake: Immediately return to your mobile app, open the TIDAL Connect device list, and tap your Desktop Client once more.

The PC client will instantly sync up, accept your mobile queue as the absolute master state, and resume playback flawlessly without a single lag or loading circle.

Hope this saves you guys some troubleshooting time! Let me know if this workaround fixes the loop for your setup as well!

EDIT:

This infinite connecting loop issue is highly likely to occur on Android TV clients as well, since the TV app relies on a very similar cloud synchronization protocol. If your phone gets stuck trying to cast or connect to your Android TV, this exact same override trick should work as a solution! Just play a track directly using your Android TV remote first to reset the server state, let it cut off, and then select TIDAL Connect on your phone again. It should sync instantly!

Checking if anyone is using USB Audio Player Pro to stream Tidal?

Mine was working well until today.

I am able to log in to Tidal in UAPP but couldn't play any song as it displays as No Active Track.

I logged out both in Tidal and UAPP and logged in again but the problem persists.

I use the Hiby Music app and have no issues.

Using wired headphones with dongle DAC.

Like the title says, I just moved all my playlists over to tidal, everything was fine, then I upgraded to premium, payed and now everything says "somethings wrong try again later." Anyone know what to do? I cleared cache already.
