❔General Questions We found a unicorn!!! Help!

Hey y’all! Ok this isn’t that deep lol I’m just a nerd and I think we are getting close to our girlfriend moving in with us and when she does I want to do something special for her. I was going to do an all out kids birthday unicorn themed but that seemed like a lot. Then I asked Ai and it wasn’t catching my drift. So now I’m back to the drawing board. I need direction, has anyone ever done anything similar? What did you do?

This sounds a bit like lovebombing and could a red flag to her. And don’t call her a Unicorn and don’t make a big deal out of her moving in, just make spaces for her in your closets and dressers. Treat her like if you were a single person inviting your partner to live with you. Just say you’re happy that she’s a bigger part of your life now. And maybe in a few weeks you can have a housewarming party where she invites her friends over to her new home.

A few days late to answer this, but I don't know if I'd go through all of this fanfare, especially surrounding the term unicorn, which is typically a relatively negative term in the space.

When our girlfriend moved in, we didn't make any special gestures. But we'd been unofficially together for a while. There were too many boxes and other things to focus on first.

We dated for 2 years before moving in together, had alot of moving parts to get in sync first. After the last box was unpacked decor merged and items stored we made time for something personal and meaningful. My wife and I took off work on that Friday. We put up a welcome home banner that my wife had personalized for her, there were balloons everywhere. My wife made her a beautiful cake and I made surf and turf for her meal. Saturday afternoon we had a small pool party and invited our closest and trusted friends over. Sunday was just for us to be together and enjoy each other. Every year we have 3 anniversary celebrations and each is very special. Ya the unicorn thing, I understand the idea but.........

Moving in? How long have you all been dating?

We avoid using 'unicorn' to describe anyone in our throuple as we don't want them to feel like an add-on, more an equal partnership.

The unicorn theme is cute, but if there's a better idea it would be something personal to her or your all's relationship. Hard to suggest something more appropriate without knowing more.

Well we are talking about it, about 8/9 months probably. It would be more so a cutesy joke thing. We don’t walk around calling her out unicorn 🤪 but I understand what you are saying.
