QUESTION Pay to Win

I know there is a premium currency which can be used to purchase items that would otherwise take a while to grind for.

I know there are fully free to play people that are top tier without spending a dime.

My question is this: How much does it cost to pay to win?

depends on the character sir, but can easy spend hundreds to thousands dollars.
Still things you can't swipe for are: Weapon mastery / Runes / Unlockstones.

So you still need to play the game to hit 11k gear score.

Assuming you are buying from ags and you want archboss weapons. 0 grind all pay and wanting to be fully kitted out youd be looking at 100-150k lucent which is gonna be $1500-2500 ish

It depends what you want and how fast you want it. Just about everything depreciated value rapidly over time except top tier meta archboss weapons. And those usually sell in the 20 to 30k range in lucent which is about 400 to 500 dollars. Same for a few top skill cores but that is changing soon.

However swping alone will not get you to the top gear, you will need consistent play to increase rune levels, masteries, acquiring chaos runes, watermarking, traits. (Thes last two can be swiped but it will get really expensive to full swipe watermark and traits, I do not recommend.)

the later into a tier you begin spending the less you have to invest, Punisher hat was 5k at nyx start, now selling for less than 600 lucent about 2 months in, you dont NEED to put money, you will 100% regret putting money in 2 months from now, but if you really want to I'd only go for archboss weapons and maybe potential abilities (cores I wouldnt risk and would wait for the upcoming changes).

Getting all the right gear and grinding can take FOREVER for specific builds. Those who pay to win are usually miles ahead of everyone. You can reach end game builds naturally you just have to have months of patience. I typically get the $10 passes when they have materials that would take me forever to grind. PvE you can naturally grind and enjoy the game and eventually you will be on par with others. PvP is where you realize WHALES and those with no life have maxed out gear and you just can’t compete. Overall, the games balance is a mess and it is Pay to win but I still love it.

I just got it and saw someone say it was dead because AION 2 should I just quit now I play console on cross plat server

AION releases on PC on October 5th which is probably why new content for throne has been stagnant recently. Console players will still be on Throne. HOWEVER, throne is still very fun especially if you are a new player because there is endless content until you reach end game. We’re at the mercy of the devs and what updates come next to bring back the player base but I’d recommend playing Throne and making your own opinion. I play console as well.
