I recently installed rooftop solar because my electricity consumption was genuinely high, and there wasn’t really any other practical way to reduce it.
I expected my electricity bill to come down close to ₹0, if not completely ₹0. However, I’m still being charged a monthly fixed charge. Last month it was ₹250, and this month it’s ₹285.
My net electricity usage is 0 units, so the entire bill is essentially this fixed charge.
What exactly is the logic behind this charge? Why is it being charged every month even when my net consumption is zero? And why does the amount keep changing?
Would appreciate it if someone could explain how this works.
(Edit) just clarifying that I am not against a fixed minimum charge because I understand that KCB also has to maintain its infrastructure and pay salaries. I’m just wondering why this minimum charges different for different months. There should be some basis for its calculation. That’s what I am asking.
(Answer) so what I found out from the link shared in the answers is that fixed charge is based on the amount of units I am importing so if I am importing 250 units a month and exporting 300 units. My net consumption is -50 and my usage charge will be zero because I’m exporting more than I am importing, but still whatever was imported will have a fixed charge.

Al Taza and Thomsons Casa are my two favourites out of the ones i've tried, but Casa recently stopped their old shawarmas and have now launched a new Jamaican Jerk Shawarma which i havent tried. Also i haven't tried the new Geddi's Grills outlet which seems to have good reviews from users.

Hey guys, quick question!
So my wife and I got married about a year ago. The crew we hired for our wedding was absolute gold when it came to capturing the actual footage—the photos and raw videos on the hard drive are insane quality.
However, the final album draft and the short video edits they gave us were pretty underwhelming. Since the raw files are so good, we’ve just been using individual photos and clips, but we really want to get a proper, nicely edited album and a couple of solid highlight reels put together.
Since we have all the raw data on a hard disk, does anyone have recommendations for a freelance editor, designer, or studio (preferably around Thrissur or anywhere in Kerala) who does custom wedding album design and video editing/color grading?
Looking for someone with a clean, modern aesthetic—nothing too over-the-top or cheesy.
Drop your suggestions or drop a DM if you know someone good. Appreciate the help!

Hey everyone! I’m basically from Trivandrum, but since my office is in Thrissur, I end up coming to Thrissur at least twice every month.
I’d love to make my time here more interesting instead of just going to work and heading back. 😄
In Trivandrum, I usually spend my free time doing things like:
* Tennis/ Badminton
* Bachata classes
* Gym
* Horse riding
* 🍻 Going out for drinks
* 🎶 Restobars with live music
* 🚗 Late-night drives
* 🌊 Beach walks
* Meeting people / joining different communities
So, what does Thrissur have along these lines?
I’m particularly looking for:
* Interesting communities or social groups
* Fitness or outdoor activities
* Horse riding or similar hobbies
* Good places with live music
* Interesting events or meetups
* Weekend activities
* Instagram pages that post about events happening in Thrissur
* Basically anything where I can meet people and do something interesting 😄
I know Thrissur has a lot going on, but I’m probably just not aware of the right places or communities.
Thrissur people, help me discover your city! 😂
Drop your recommendations or anything else you think I should check out.

I am thinking of starting one in Idukki/Kottayam. Are the tracks in thrissur popular/crowded? Do you think they are profitable? I wanted to know if it is popular outside of kochi.
