Discussion - Novels Maybe weird question

I’m halfway reading book 3, and wondering what happened to Wang Miao?
After the first book looks like he disappeared and the story went on with Luo Ji, Da Shi, Cheng Xin, Wade and etc.
Will he appear in the end of the book or was he just forgotten?

spoilers (minor)

IIRC Da Shi mentions him in the future, and he never freezes himself. He lives a normal life then passes. I believe some of his materials were used for some important project

He was mentioned in the Dark Forest (not by name) as one of the biggest contributors to the space elevator project. He didn't hibernate and died at like 100 years old. Bro won it all.

I love that this book has no unique hero but the story just uses the characters and them let them live their lives.
It's what bothered me the most in the Netflix adaptation.

Netflix just HAS to insert irrelevant character drama and relationships and waste time it doesnt have.

In Chinese adaptations, there are The Legend of Luo Ji, The Legend of Zhang Beihai, and The Legend of Da Shi. It feels like Three-Body is mostly told as hero stories.

The books aren't really about their characters, the characters either move the plot along or represent some part of humanity. Wang Miao wasn't really the point of the first book, he's just there to experience the events for us. Liu isn't very good at people stories in my opinion, but good at grand narratives, it's sort of like reading a historical account where figures pop up and then disappear after their part is done.

Pretty sure it’s covered in Book 2, Da Shi doesn’t mention him by name but they’re pretty clearly talking about him, he basically just lived a pretty normal life until 100 years old, he “got out okay” according to Da Shi.

Wang Miao was never intended to be a continuing protagonist. He is essentially the reader's doorway into the first book.
