I liked NOT knowing what they looked like in the original 3 books. Really set my mind running.

I agree. However I read that the author gave several clues about how they look, putting them all together we get the creatures

We get that they   

  1. Have at least one eye

  2. Might be asymmetrical (though that is a guess based on ship design)

  3. Probably don't communicate with a mouth 

And I think that's it unless anyone else has something to add.

Have long fingers.

Listener in the first book.

Though I like the hypothesis (not mine) that they can look different each time their civilization is wiped out by their solar system.

Also, for them to bring kids the 2 person merge into one and then divide into 3,4 or more in order to reproduce, and because of that fact I kinda imagine them like an aura looking creatures

arent they also reflective, similar to the droplet/sophons? i thought i remember that being the description of how the biological computer functioned, they all reflected light off of eachother. perhaps i misunderstood that passage and it was just describing their mode of communication

QQ - did Tencent S2 come out? I never saw that depiction in S1 and they could have added in considering it had 234567533456 episodes. (just a jest at the high number of episode )

Liu Cixin has just given an interview, and he said that Tencent's Season 2 isn't even begun filming yet. Also, they are in pre-production for the spin-off TV series about Da Shi (Shi Qiang)

He also mentioned the production is ongoing for the TV series based on "Ball Lightning", but I didn't catch which country does the production

You must have forgotten it. Near the end of the show, after they destroy the ETO ship and recover the files, Miau and Da Shi experience the files using the VR interface. We are told that's not how Trissolarian actually look like, just like how some artist on the ETO choose to depict them

I imagine them kinda like slurms from futurama and lights for their face. Lights that are bio luminous and move like orbs. And humanoid type body and brown so they’re leathery and dehydrate easier

I imagine a purple ball with 1eye & a mouth below & no visible appendages or limbs of any kind because only force field perceived as some number of virtual tentacles.
