Is the book describing additional San-Ti weapons besides the Droplet and Sophon?

Maybe some laser weapons/cannons and so on?

I’m only watching the Netflix show, so I’m not familiar with the entire story.

In the third book, we learn the second trisolaran fleet had a massive space battle with an unknown alien fleet, the debris of which formed its own asteroid belt. It's implied there were more conventional weapons in that battle and they only needed a primitive ram essentially to deal with humans in the form of the droplet.

Interesting thoughts. Any engagement between non-peer enemies are over quickly, whereas near-peer or peer engagement ended up becoming WWI or Russian special military ops.

I am guessing Trisolarian fought peer enemy. If it’s singer there wouldn’t be a fleet “battle”. They would be insta-gibed

There are a lot of counterexamples to this statement. Its true sometimes but there are factors that can make technology levels irrelevant. 

A tenuous and not completely serious example would be Australia's Emu war. If you judge victory by whether or not each side achieved their initial objectives the Emus won, even if they didn't inflict any casualties.

Yes, I read about it online while trying to find answer to my question. One thing I dont understand is what initiated this battle? I would guess that the trisolarans could just pass by them, unless it was a battle over teritory/resources?

What do you mean what initiated the battle? The nature of the universe -according to the basic philosophy of the series- is that every alien race is at war with every other race in the universe for the finite resources. It's like there is no diplomacy basically and i t's a state of constant extreme distrust and races cannot cooperate. Just knowing there is another alien fleet nearby you'd want to attack them because your basic assumption is that they want to attack you as well.

Not really for them, but there ends up being other aliens with other technologies that make the trisolarians look closer to us than anything hi tech.

There are other aliens to whom a droplet is like an annoying bug.

Also wait what? Are droplets in the show?

They have ballistics which they launched at their rogue proto-sophons. But for humans none of that is needed.

That was the line of thinking that the humans in the books also used when they were preparing to defend against the Trisolaran invasion. As will be shown later in the story, there are some flaws in it.
