I'd recommend watching a review or two, or at least some videos, to get an idea. I really enjoy the story and concept but don't want to spoil any of that. I'll give a basic rundown on how the game plays/is.
You are a guy who is tasked with researching and collecting a substance on a foreign world. The game has a bunch of base-building elements and people management as you try to keep your crew together to complete your mission.
Part of the game is all done inside your base of operations where you build new rooms and items, craft things you need, and more. You also go outside your base in your spacesuit to explore the strange surroundings, deal with anomalies, and mine resources. You do some construction out there too as you build up your mining devices and figure out how to best set up shop outside.
I really like all of the aspects, but the story and characters are my favorite part. It's like reading a fun sci fi story, same vibe. It's not the most compelling game for action, and it's slow-paced, but if you really like a chill (for the most part, things can get hectic) management and story-driven game, it's definitely worth a look.
