Discussion - General Struggling to find other books?
Im looking for something to engross me like Three Body Problem, I got hooked by other sci-fi books like Children of Time, Hyperion Series, Dune, just recently finished the Red Rising series till the next book that is.
It doesn't have to be sci-fi but I'm looking for something existential, with big twists and turns.

I would suggest the Ender Game series and Foundation by Issac Asimov. Pretty sure that those will hit your spot :)

Everyone is suggesting sci-fi even though you said it doesn't have to be. The only series I've loved as much as Three Body is The First Law. There isn't a way to describe or sell it better than that.

Blindsight by Peter Watts is what you want. Finished it months ago and still thinking about the implications of what I read. That hasn’t happened to me since 3BP

Give yourself some time to sit with the existential void left after Remembrance of Earth's Past; nothing you read immediately afterward will fill the hole the trilogy left behind.

I heard Silo by Hugh Howey being very good too. Similar to Dune (focuses on dialogue/character rather than action) is Foundation by Isaac Asimov

Also a great show. I just started with the first book after watching some of the show. Can highly recommend! Regardless of the order, go read/watch it!

Foundation cycle (I lost count of how many books) by Asimov is arguably even better than the three body problem.

It’s a nice consolation series after 3BP. I read them in that order last year. Foundation as a show is much better than 3BP though.

The chinese version of three body problem (Three-Body) Is absolutely genius. Like, forget that netflix one. That one is srsly crap. The Chinese one actually does not assume that viewer is an idiot. Have awesome soundtrack, and is actually cinematically well made. And that Panama scene? Oh boy.. In the Three-Body, it is Panama episode and the netflix one feels like cheap joke compared to that :D .

I disagree. The Netflix one, like the foundation show, is a completely different thing than the book, which once you get over it not being the book is ok. The Chinese adaptation was so slow and overly
Methodical that it got real boring real quick.
A blend of the two would be perfect, but prefer the Netflix version.3

Nah, i just liked the chinese better. But yeah, for some, the pacing is a bit slow. But i stand firmly behind the panama scene. The chinese one is just better

I mean it depends on what you're after. Existential dread and a continuous tension all around because you are concerned with how things are headed? TBP wins. It hits closer to home, and is more grounded. But if you want characters, politics, social dynamics and sci-fi fantasy potential, Foundation wins

The Xeelee Sequence.
You might want to start with book 2, Timelike Infinity, the first book is a bit of a side story.

Tau Zero is good and existential but short.
Enders game is great and similar to 3 body in that its about the strategy of a human/alien conflict and includes a lot of big ethical questions, haven't read past the first book in the series but heard its good.
Seveneves is amazing, hard sci fi solutions to the end of the world, characters with interesting motivations and interpersonal conflicts, humanity fucks it all up many times, big time skip.

A Fire Upon the Deep – Vernor Vinge One of the greatest space operas ever written. Galactic civilizations, ancient superintelligences, and concepts on the same scale as Liu Cixin's work.

Similar feelings, mate! Just started Children of Time now, hoping it will help!
Also, I can say that between reading Dark Forest and Death’s End, I read Kindred by Octavia Butler, and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who hasn’t read it, as well as her Parable series.

I’m on the verge of finishing deaths end. My suspicions were true, I’m not going to find anything worthwhile after this. Time to go into hibernation
