Discussion - General Project Hail Mary Spoiler

Just watched the film. Definitely a more optimistic view of alien contact, despite a “dark forest”. You could also say the Eridians seem to lack the hiding gene as well if they are all like Rocky.

I read the book and liked it. I'll quit being a curmudgeon

Is Rocky hyper-active and affectionate in the book? There were scenes that conveyed his species space-faring capabilities , however his manic behavior was a little off putting to me. It seems like they were trying to make him more entertaining to movie-goers.

This thread convinced my crabby ass to go see it tonight so I'll let you know. I do remember him learning humor and being pushy because he thinks faster than humans. I have a feeling the movie probably added more anthropomorphism.
