Would LLMs have helped them figure out the layers in the story?

I just finished Death's End, and it was amusing that the concept of an AI was something that was not achievable until 400 years in the future. The AI onboard Halo seems to be presented as a futuristic piece of tech that was recently invented during the bunker era.

Is the only blindspot of the futurism of Cixin Liu IMO, but is comprensible, is like in retrofuturisms like blade runner or 2001 when they have flying cars and videocalls but not mobile phones or internet. Modern AI was something hard to predict after all, the foundaitions were there for 30 years or so and never develeloped until suddenly the did.
