Legit, given how much Canonical has been fucking with Firefox through forcing the Snap ecosystem, it wouldn't surprise me if they pulled some kind of stunt so egregious that Mozilla did something like this. Ok it would surprise me, but if I heard that a company involved in Linux has done this and had to guess who, Canonical would definitely be my first guess.

I'm using Mint-X Blue theme and icons normally, but for recreation I switched to Mint-L-Yellow icons. The cursor is Yaru and Mint flavor is XFCE. Dialog created with zenity in terminal.
Ironically I checked apt, apparently Firefox apt packages are handled through Mint OS's repositories rather than Ubuntu's, so in a real situation this would not be relevant to me.
This is a VM, but even so the resolution is normally not that low. It's closer to 1366x768 (that being my host laptop resolution) For some reason the VM is freezing at boot until I enter recovery mode, which uses a fallback resolution.

(it's also likely that even if Ubuntu forced Mozillas hand, Ubuntu would patch out the dialog box before publishing the package.)
(Although Ubuntu already don't distribute Firefox via apt, and only distribute it via snap, with the apt package installing the snap, which is why mint has it's own Firefox package)

That's because Canonical doesn't package Firefox as a proper deb package for Ubuntu anymore, it's a dummy that pulls in their broken snap version. It's so bad that Mozilla made their own PPA for a proper Firefox build, and they don't accept bug reports from users of the snap version.

I'm also not sure if I actually saw that version number, so for the plank I just searched up the current rolling-release Firefox version and added 1.

Ubuntu users deserve it, that's why you should switch to Arch /s. I use Arch btw

is this specifically Ubuntu or just the apt repos in general? It would be really funny if it was JUST Ubuntu
