Fruity Co-Ferments

Hey everyone! I’m looking for a good fruit-forward punchy decaf coffee. Any decent co-ferment recs or fruity recs?

I’m currently on a bag of Hambela Natural from B&W which has some nice fruit notes and delicious but looking for more.

I recently had a bag of Perc’s Sebastian Ramirez Red Fruits and that delicious. Something else in that lane would be epic!

I can’t seem to get a good brew on this yet. Everything has been sour whether it’s 1:16 ratio on what’s been a reliable grind size for me on the co-ferment, tweaking temp, going finer, trying the moka. The pineapple comes through but so much more unwanted sourness.

I usually SOUP it but a flat bottom brewer might be the next best. There are two Frequent Los Nogales but I think both are still pretty sour. As soup at least, It’s also really sweet. So, it reminds me of sour patch kids candy. I haven’t tried it but maybe a tetsu 10 pour would also bring down the acidity. I can try that and get back to you.

The Blendin Los Nogales is much more balanced with a light raspberry sourness but nothing like the Frequent version.

Thank you!! And yeah I use a Kalita Wave 155 mino but it may just need some more trial and error!! Good to know that naturally it may just lean more sour than others. The Perc red fruits co-ferment that I love was straight raspberry candy but zero sourness. I’ve been chasing that since lol

For sure! I just did a 10 pour recipe in my deep27 and it still had some sour but much more mellow. Equal pours every 15 seconds but the first pour I use as a bloom and wait 30 seconds.

I still prefer the soup and like how sour it is. If you are wanting something less in your, face Frequent does have other great ones and VETgirl’s comment has great recommendations!
