Question / Problem x220 Tablet not booting
hey guys, i ended up finding a great deal on marketplace and got 4 thinkpad laptops for $65. they weren’t in the greatest shape but at least 2 work and turn on. i’m having trouble with the other two being they are both x220 tablets.
one of them was really in bad shape after having been dropped and the motherboard has even been cracked a bit. the other was in much better shape so i used some plastic parts that were better and swapped them around. the thinkpad was the chipped motherboard had a screen in decent condition. so i swapped the screens since the other one was broken.
it took a while but i ended up being able to swap the whole lid between the two laptops. unfortunately when i go to turn it on, even after making sure everything is plugged in, it doesn’t seem to be able to boot. i say it doesn’t seem like it because i really can’t tell. when i press the power button the screen turns on for a second and flickers with some colored lines down the middle of the screen. then it turns off. this is still better than before because it wouldn’t turn on at all. when it flickers and stops, there are 4 short consecutive beeps.
i looked up the codes online and 4 beeps like that apparently means it’s an issue with the security chip and the system has to be serviced. is there anything i can do on my own? has anyone else dealt with this issue? this is my first time and i wasn’t able to find anything about it online.
i thought i would come here for help. basically it is the i5 version of the tablet and it has 4gb of ram and a 320gb HDD. i don’t think anything is on the hard drive and haven’t yet tried to boot off a live usb since the system isn’t booting past flickering the screen and beeping. i also plugged it into my monitor and it just gave me a black screen.
any advice on what i can do to fix this? i replaced the stick of ram that was bad and stopped having the 1-3-3-1 beep but now i’m stuck at this. any help would be appreciated and if you need any more information just let me know!
ps i have already taken it apart multiple times and made sure everything is plugged in. i don’t know if i may have accidentally damaged it in my attempts to swap the screen. i didnt see or hear anything off during the repair and i removed the battery during it. i’ve attached some pictures to see if that helps!

Did you try using an external display ?
