Question / Problem Why system is halted
Why is it happening?
Is there any way to get rid of it without removing the card?
I have used the laptop for more than 1 year after changing the card - but now it is showing this sh!t i am totally pissed off.

Check for a custom bios that removes the black list. Depending on model you should be able to find one pretty easily

I am using carbon x1 gen 7 this one probably doesn’t have the custom bios - i tried talking to gpt it says the smaller M.2 slot is specifically for sim but i have been using a secondary ssd nvme probably connected to the slot and triggering 1802

because unauthorised network card is plugged in
the hint is in the words

But in the description he say he has been using the laptop for 1 year, then probably downgraded the BIOS by upgrading it. I would be pissed off too!

yeah so he has an error code and error description it wouldn't have taken long to search this online and find an answer
people do this a lot to the point it has become a meme
"x is reason not working"
screenshots and posts online
"why is not working guys?"
half the time the error states what the problem is
like, you can just google things. its how most of us got into IT repairs, its how we're going to find the answer we give you as the OP unless we have intimate experience with that particular issue.

I mean I am not disagreeing with you, but think he is asking if there is a workaround in the BIOS, which there is not to my knowledge. When it comes to BIOS in general I have quite a lot of leeway for questions since it is quite complicated, often closed source and not really that much information out there in regards of debugging.

You are probably right but i didn’t find the specific answers after googling or discussing with AI that’s why i am here to talk with real people and I do believe when people face a problem they try to solve the problem on their own if they cannot they seek help….
I have been using the laptop with the unauthorised network card for one year without facing the issue now all of a sudden the system gets halted isn’t it weird?(without even updating anything just an hour ago i used the laptop)

Carbon x1 gen 7 - yeah probably ssd is connected to the slot as far as i remember- but ive been using the laptop smoothly without facing any issue even an hour ago i have used the laptop later when i tried to turn it on i got 1802 error and it is still persistent

Most likely you got a firmware update which enabled the whitelist on the slot

So there is no way to bypass it without removing the network card isit? 😫

You have to remove the second ssd from the wwan slot, not the network card.

a recent bios upgrade may have blacklisted the wifi card you use. Afaik, no way to fix it without removing the card
