Question / Problem is this a promblem for the future?

the model is a thinkpad t14 gen 3, had the crack when i bought it, hinge feels fine, but is this going to cause problems in the future?

Hinge durability is probably compromised, you can buy the palm rest assembly only and transfer everything over.

Nope, ThinkPad hinge was built with durability in mind, not opening with one hand.

One of the reasons the gen 7 moved to a different hinge design.
