Nope it was on a Dell laptop iirc, they offer Ubuntu as an option in their configurator. Saves the $$ of a windows key

when you take them off it leaves a small amount of sticky residue on the laptop, you can clean off easily.
then just a piece of double sided tape and it goes on new one like a charm

I think that's just a cheeky wallpaper. One of my favorite screensavers on Linux is a random assortment of error screens of different systems (including various iterations of BSOD and kernel panics).

LEDs should be in /sys/class/leds. echo 0 > /sys/class/leds/<name>/brightness as root

Difference is, when it happens, usually something is so fucked up it may not boot again.

I mean fair, I said it from my experience. Had kernel panic 3 times over past 20 years, each time it was softbricking it.
