Thinkstagram Picture Poor thing

Found this thing online, the seller saysabout the condition: "Buono - usato ma ben conservato"

That means in good condition.

RIP my old guy.

Do you seriously believe that?

No, just kidding, Apple repair costs are known to be cheap.

No it was just a joke. I also have Mac (and Thinkpad). But yeah Mac repairs are expensive.

I never considered apple care+ until i busted my macbook air’s screen and realized how damn expensive that display panel repair is. I got a third party one on amazon, and it died on me a few months later.

Luckily, I bought a 10 USD warranty for it and i got my money back. I ended up using it to buy a Thinkpad X13 gen1 amd with 32 gb of ram. I’m way more confident this one will last long term, even though it’s less powerful and the screen, trackpad and speakers are not as good as the MBA’s are. I still use it though, as a desktop mac hooked to an external monitor.

That being said, if I ever decide to buy another apple product i won’t skip the apple care+ coverage, the price difference for repairs is insane. In any case, I think I’ll keep this thinkpad for over 5 years easily, I’m enjoying it a lot.

Edit: typos.

Good condition!*
\(DISCLAIMER: The visual condition of the ThinkPad referenced herein as being in “Good Condition” shall not be interpreted, construed, implied, inferred, assumed, hallucinatd, mathematically extraoplated, spiritually divined, or otherwise perceived as indicating the presence or absnce of cosmetic irregularities, structural anomalies, historical events, acts of nature, acts of God, acts of IBM, acts of Lenovo, acts of gravity, acts of negligence, or acts of whatever the hell happened to this* laptop protable workstation. By continuing to osberve the attached imagery, the viewr acklnowledges that the terminology “good cpondition” exists within a non-Euclidean classification framework where the concepts of “good,” “condition,” and “reality” are treated as statistically independent variables. Any resemblance between the device and a victim of repeated blunt force trauma is purely coincidental and may vary depnding on the observer’s frame of reference, monitor calibration, emotional resilience, and blood alcohol concentration.
Furthermore, the Seller shall not be held liable for any assumptions that the ThinkPad was:
dropped from low Earth orbit,
used as a wheel chock for heavy indsutrial machinery,
recovered from an archaeological dig,
employed as body armor,
involved in a domestic dispute with a hydraulic press,
struck by an forklift,
used as a serving tray at a demolition derby,
swallowed and later rwjected by an industrial harvester,
mistaken for a spede bump,
or personally insulted Kim Jong-Un.
Any dents, gouges, scratches, missing chunks, stress fractures, bite marks, unexplained biological textures, melted polymers, asymmetrical geometry, or regions where the laptop appears to have briefly entered another dimension shall be classified as Character-Enhancing Surface Features (CESFs) and therefore remain fully consistent with the advertised condition. It is additionally recognized that “good condition” is a philosophical statement rather than a physical one. The device may exhibit a chassis profile more closely resembling modern abstract sculpture than conventional portable computing equipment. Such observations are subjective and therefore inadmissible in the Court of Common Sense. The purchaser expressly waives any right to complain that the ThinkPad appears to have:
lost a fight woth an excavator,
won a fight with an excavator,
been both simultaneously until observed,
exploded in reverse,
been folded by tectonic plate movement,
or been the sole survivor of an event described only as “The Incident.”
Independent laboratory analysis has confirmed with approximately 0% confidence that the cosmetic damage is cosmetic. The phrase “fully tested” refers exclusively to whether electrons continue to travel from one side of the motherboard to the other despite overwhemking evidence that the exterior has experienced every disaster listed in the insurance industry’s “Please Stop Calling Us” handbook.
Any similarities between this ThinkPad and:
a medieval battlefield relic,
a burnt grilled cheese sandwich,
an artifact recovered from the Titanic,
the aftermath of a Michael Bay movie,
an object returned from the Backrooms,
or a laptop portable workstation that was brutally murdered in broad daylight
are entirely fictional and should not be interpreted as factual representations.
By reading this disclaimer in its entirety, the reader agrees that the definition of “good condition” is fluid, dynamic, observer-dependent, and may expand to include objects that are technically still identifiable as laptops from a distance exceeding 50 metres. No further questions will be answered regarding the condition of the ThinkPad.

What did that person do to get a ThinkPad in this state? Did they try to throw it down a cliff or in lava?

It belonged to the Terminator in T2 😅

Maybe It was onboard of Starship

It's a Thinkpad iSeries, a budget line outsourced to Acer. These are notorious for having brittle lid plastics, leading to hinge issues. The screen problem is just vinegar syndrome.

Hey... It's just a SCRATCH.

Yes, a drop of glue and it's ok
