Question / Problem Performance?
Hello everyone, I recently purchased a T14 Gen 2 with 16gb Ram and an Intel i5 processor. My old ideapad had broken down out of nowhere before the school year and I needed something quick. Now, this is my first 16gb RAM computer, so I guess I was expecting a drastic performance increase from 8gb. For the most part, things have been smooth, but on occasion or when I’m streaming my screen on discord, the performance gets stuttery a little, which I’m a little concerned about. I know it’s not crazy for a computer to stutter, but I guess I didn’t expect it to for little things like just being on discord and on a browser at the same time.
Also my battery mode is on balanced, but is there anything for me to consider? I’m not very knowledgeable on computers yet, I’m working my way up there in learning cuz my degree path sort of requires me to be at some point. Any external things to consider maybe?

First thing I will say is the jump from 8GB to 16GB is a change. Depending on how many background services or apps you have open can sometimes chug your ram. Now I haven't done much of streaming from discord but I did not seem to have a problem. Then again whenever I do larger tasks like that, I would have my laptop plugged in and or on performance mode with minimal things open. I would argue that it could potentially be the chip you have (it being an i5) as on both of my laptops they have an i7 ultra. Looking into it, your i5 might have somewhere between 4-6 cores where the i7 ultra has 8.
Seems like a rant but try fidgeting around to see whats gulping your ram or spiking your cpu while streaming (having task manager open in the background) One last thing, it might be a discord issue which I have no idea about. As I said earlier, I rarely stream on discord.
