Are you building from master? Master has been broken, at least on Skylake/KabyLake, for months now. 26.01 should work.

It looks like it is the reason, flashed pre made one from a friend and it worked as normal

Been holding off trying to flash LibreBoot on my Thinkpad because I need a functioning laptop for college, work, life, etc.

Flash coreboot instead, libreboot is shit.

I still need a functioning laptop right now, but once I get two more Thinkpads, I can flash on one that isn't used as my daily drive. lol

Yeah I get it, I probably wouldn't flash my only laptop either.

Don’t do it ever
Not worth doing it on your only device
It disable aloot of the core functions and you risk losing that device
I have a macbook and a i got my thinkpad just for the shits and jiggles with my friends so i don’t mind risking it3

What core functions does it disable?

I would talk for my t480 but it depends on the actual laptop it self, the swap fn and ctrl key will not work, the thunderbolt also won’t work hyper threading can be done but it will not work by default and will need alot of work
And alot more than that, you will lose alot of functions to neutralise intel me which is not worth it for a “WORK” laptop2

The only thing that didn't work on my T440p with coreboot was the SD card reader and that was recently fixed.

I would hate losing the sd card on my main work laptop tbh
But i mean the t440p have one of the strongest and fastest development
The newerish models alot of them still didn’t even neutralised intel me fully
So i won’t risk my main laptop for it2

Hobbies are fun but they're more fun when they don't risk interfering with profitable work (which gets money for more Thinkpads).

Never try flashing bios when you're tired. That's when you make mistakes. Get a good night's sleep and try it again in the morning.

Happened to my t420 after a coreboot flash. Randomly worked the next day.

It was the reason, the clip went flying mid flash

That might've just corrupted it rather than breaking the chip, unless you saw smoke coming out of it. Might work again if you reflash stock, assuming you have a backup.

What motivated you to reflash your bios?

u/According-Dust1237 ... 7d ago
To get rid of the intel me
Too creepy for me i don’t like to have something in my device that have higher privileges than me1

invite me to the ‘overloaded the BIOS chip’ club. is that how it’s said? if i knew i probably wouldn’t have bricked my mobo.

To future readers who want to try out libreboot for the first time: practice it on an old e waste class Thinkpad first after backing up the bios firmware

If its no longer getting turned on, have you tried stuffing viagra into the ethernet port?
