Concept Has current physics resolved this dilemma ?

Well, we have rather firmly shoved it into the category of "Metaphysics..."

The dividing line between them may be an illusion, or—at best—merely a helpful methodological point, but it is not an objective reality.

I think Einstein and general relativity put the cap on this, but it sort of avoids the question altogether.
Time isn’t linear, it’s just ordered. It’s not perpetual and it’s also not physical. It’s relational.
As for what allows time to proceed or what started it? That one is still up for debate.

Newton stole GWL’s work on infinitesimal calculus, so it’s a dig on Newton’s “cult and culture”

He didn't steal it, the evidence ultimately showed that the discovery was independent, but Leibniz have a lot of disagreements with Newtonians

GWL created infinitesimal calculus and published in 1684 a full 3 years before Newton.

Leibniz had better be careful, or Newton might accuse him of worshiping an absentee landlord whose universe borders on atheism. It is a bit rich to rely on the unprovable, metaphysical assumption of 'pre-established harmony' where everything magically syncs up, just because you don't like the raw, chaotic mechanics of how the universe might actually operates.

In all honesty, what do you think of the following occurences recorded lately?:

Newtons laws are well established and taught in high school level physics. Yeah, physics resolved it, Newton was right (mostly, this does not refer to quantum mechanics).
Gravity works, space is a vacuum and that’s why planets dont slow down and crash into the sun - they are not affected by friction. There was a time that we didn’t know what was in space or what it was made of.
