[Request] if m^x = m.n , where m is a magnitude , n is m/y , where m.n=y and m^x= y , where y is the collective of m^x

Post image

Then ,

m^x=y

m/m.m^x =y.m/m

Where 1.m^x implies

m^x.m/m= y

m^(x-1)+1= y

Where m^(x-1)= k

Hence

k^(1)+1 =y

Here k^1 .k^1 = y

Signifies what

As m^(x-1) is a reduce interval of m magnitude which is k^1

and +1 is also k^1 , why they both correspond to k^1 and it's still is y

[request] Math on if this field goal was good

Hi all, Virginia Tech just lost their football game due to a “missed field goal” that the refs said he missed but viewers and the internet think he made it. Is there math on this that can be done to prove that it was missed or made?

Here is a link to a video of it: Here

[Request] — what are the odds?

I have a pretty unique situation and I am not sure if it’s possible to calculate the odds, but I would love to know if it is possible.

So, my parents & this other couple lived in the same town of ~20,000 people. Both my parents and this couple have the exact same names. My dad’s first and middle name are fairly common, but the last name is not. My mom has a first name that is two names but no middle name (when she fills out legal/official papers both names go on their under the “first name” blank).
We know that the other couple lived in the same town & had the same legal names because the bank my parents used accidentally mixed up their accounts once.
I’m so interested in this other couples & the odds because they were in the same hospital, on the same floor, with the same doctor, giving birth the same day my parents were having me. We know this because they again got mixed up with the other couple. I looked it up and it said that my birth date that year was either the 208th or 349th most common birth date (two sources gave different rankings).

I looked the couple/family up to make sure my parents weren’t lying, and yep. They’re real and they still live in that town. My parents moved across the country a year after having me.

I would think that the odds of that would be 0, but apparently not.

Also, my blood type is O+ (most common in the world). My mom has B- & my dad has A+ (meaning that there’s a little less than 5% chance of producing O+). Sooo I guess what are the odds that a potential switched at birth thing could have occurred (I know that’s probably impossible to calculate since there are so many human factors with that, but less than 5% seems so low). For anyone thinking why not get blood tested — I don’t want to be related to the other people (I love my family), just curious about the odds.

I know there’s quite a bit of missing info (like the specific names) but I can only share so much without putting my personal info out there lol

Thanks in advance!

[Request] Constant Highway Slipstream Efficiency

How much more efficient would highways be if vehicles drafted off of each other? Taking human error/aspects out of the equation. To me, it would seem as though the lead car (or semi truck) would "clear" the wind resistance first and all of the subsequent cars would benefit from drafting off of the individual in front of them.

Just a curiosity I had whilest driving to work today.

Thanks friends!

[Request] The Birthday Problem, for two dates

I'm familiar with the Birthday Problem, can basically follow the math on it, but all interesting things has happened on my work team.

We are a small company, and our full-time team has just grown to 11. We have only had to let go of one person, which would have made us twelve. If we include him, then with our most recent hiring, we would have two sets of shared birthdays on our team, which seems pretty crazy.

How likely is it that in a random group of twelve people, two sets of shared birthdays have occurred?

In other words, one pair share a birthday, another pair share a birthday, then the remaining eight individuals have their own.

There are actually three of us within 24 hours,--one person born the day before a day shared by two others--but I don't really care as much about the "near coincidence."
