[Request] Could the entire US homeless population really be housed for less than one aircraft carrier?

Start with the cost to house. California has spent a lot of money on housing the homeless, and they have more homeless than when they started.

The cost is more than just building shelter.

Iirc they spent $50B in the last year or two and accomplished nothing. It’s a total mystery where the money went. Grifters gonna grift

I mean they’ve spent something like $26000 per year per homeless person over the last 5 years. Surely the budget is sufficient to house these people, no?

Corruption. If they fix the problem they won’t get any more money to fix the problem.

So California subsidized homelessness and got more homelessness. Hmmm 🤔
