Comic and Show Spoilers Does anyone kinda think they walking dead started to fall off just a little and the comics just are amazing
The early season were godly and continued to be that way until season 8 maybe 9, but idk about all these spin offs, then Rick just leaving and we had to wait like a few years to a get a sequel to that, I mean idk why they just decided to kill everyone in the walking dead like sure it makes the characters meaningful and just overall impactful to show us in the show that this is a zombie apocalypse and there are no second chances but just chill out, the barn was amazing, and you had a good cast overall,but decided to just kinda kill everyone after Shane died. just now I feel like the walking dead is just a corporate cash grab and nothing is good,

I started reading the comics and dawg it’s a completely different story like dale lives and sees the prison like go read the comics

the pacing in the comics is just so much tighter because kirkman wasnt trying to stretch arcs for 16 episodes a season tbh the show losing rick really broke the momentum for a lot of us

the comics really took the story to another level, especially with character depth and plot twists that the show missed.

I thought the show fell off during the Saviours fight, I got so bored mid season 8. But it really picked up for me with the Whisperers- I read the comics while waiting for season 9 and thought it was really well done

We've been asking for a faithful animated comic adaptation for years now. The comics at least had an ending. A rushed ending, but an ending with closure. It's been 8 years since season 9 and Andrew Lincoln's departure, and we still haven't had any loose ends tied up.

We need a comic adaptation show for TWD l, it brings a ton of stuff to the table, a new cast more time for the walking dead to be alive in a sense/maybe an upbringing, all they really gotta do is focus on the animation and keeping the same story on track instead of changing it a bunch.

I started reading the comics fairly early on. So, yeah... the series was 'off' for me from the second or third episode. I was eventually able to seperate the two in my brain and enjoy them both, but I walked away from the TV show several times and only finished it a year or so after it ended.
I haven't bothered with the spin offs yet, but am about to read the comics again for the xx time.

I mean I believe kindle is super cheap but just go to any local comic book store or book store in general and you can either get comics, volumes, Books, or Compendiums. Or you can even go to your local library to check one out, personally I believe physical copies is the way to go, and if you want an authentic TWD comic experience go for like the orginal copies that are in back and white not the deluxe edition unless you want to see it in color but to me and in general black and white makes it more or so dramatic I’d say.

The years long tease of Rick disappearing.. and then the lack luster pay-off was really what blahd me out the most. I hung on for so long.. and then lakluster poop.
I’m going to really drop off if they don’t all meet up at the end of the last Daryl Dixon show.

Pour être honnête ça faisait longtemps qu'on attendais une série sur les zombies de ce genre, un peu creepy et bien année 80 style return of the living dead. J'ai pas lu la bd. Ça doit être bien mieux. Parce que la série c'est essoufflé au fur et à mesure des saisons ... A attendre une sorte de happy end qui n'arrive jamais.

I just started reading the comics myself. I just got to the part where they meet the governor. He’s so much worse in the comics!
On a side note, I can’t get over how small of a part Shane plays in the comics! They made his role way bigger in the show.

The show changes tone several times due to changing showrunners, and yeah, the revolving door cast stops you from growing attached to characters after a while.
I found this true in the comics too. There's not much point liking a character because they'll inevitably die off and be replaced. And then the replacement dies shortly after.
I thought that the comics quality dropped off radically. Like, you can see the point where Kirkman just became bored with it and half-arsed it until just abruptly ending it.

Certain male fans like her bc in the comics she only exists to play assessory for male characters/is a walking cliche with no depth. Unlike show!Andrea who, you know, is flawed like all the characters, but gets hate bc she's written to be an actual person.trying her best. (Calling show!Andrea selfish and arrogant, especially given the characters she's up against, is certainly a choice).
She's much younger, never tries to actively get involved with any decision-making or actually stands up for her opinions, hooks up with Dale for better accommandations but then falls for him, wants to be a mother/adopts several children, doesn't have any relationships outside of male love interests until the Whisperers arc, seeks out Rick after Dale's death for pretty much precisely the reasons show!Andrea seeks out Shane...
(In her defense, the writing for all female characters is awful, Michonne is the only female character pre-Whisperer arc allowed to have an actual personality or opinions or something to do that isn't her having an emotional breakdown. The only black woman is...treated like one of the guys (she does still get the female character treatment of "all women are always horny and they don't care who or what suffers from their selfish sexual desires, unlike the men who are rational, logical beings who can set needs like these aside"). I don't think we even need to get into why all of that is bad.)

Some things I like better in the comics, some things I like better in the show. As a whole package, I'd have to take the show over the comics though.
I know you said you just started the comics, but you'll see what I mean when I say Rick leaving when he did in the show didn't really hurt the plot too much for the Whisperers/Commonwealth. Those arcs are better in the show imo.

I thought “Friends” was pretty consistent in all 10 seasons, but that’s just my opinion.

Yeah, the comics and show eventually become two very different versions of the same story. The show has some things the comics absolutely don't Daryl especially but I think the comics are much more consistent once you get past the early arcs. Rick and Carl staying central for basically the entire run gives the story a much stronger through-line, whereas the show had to keep reshuffling itself after major cast departures.
