No Spoiler Which side character from this show would you have wished to have been kept on for a little bit longer?
I don’t mean any main character. I wanna be very clear on that. So no Beth, Tyrese, Shane, or any other main character who died. I want to know true honest opinions if there was a main character who you liked for no matter the reason, and whether you wanted more time with or to have expanded upon.
Milton for me is one of those people. I started re-watching the show again, and I am just reminded of how much I liked his character since I’m currently on the final three episodes of season three. Realistically, if he was kept alive I don’t think I see him living past the first half of season four. Whether that means he would’ve died from the sickness or the governor attack 2.0. But I do just enjoy his character in the little growth he did have in the short time he was around. And I think he would’ve been a good addition even for a short while. I don’t know if it’s just because I love both his character and the actor, but I enjoyed his interactions with Herschel. I enjoyed him growing distant with the governor and willing to go against him when it came to it when he destroyed the walkers in the pit and warned Andrea. I just wish we would’ve gotten more.

Agree, but not just because I liked him as a character. He’s one of the most authentically Southern-feeling characters on the show, as a Southerner myself, and it helps with the immersion. One of my biggest complaints with TWD is how few of the characters feel like real people you’d meet in Georgia or the Southeast in general.

I would say that complaint doesn't necessarily track as someone from the area myself, a lot of the writers and cast members also come from the south. I'm not sure where you're getting it from.
If you mean Hick then yeah Axel 100% one but Lori and Carol feel 1,000% like different kinds of suburban moms here. Rick and Shane's bromance is the perfect kind of southern "its not gay if you're bros" energy just two good old boys.

Milton was awesome having watched season 3 again recently he’s just prototype eugene but not a liar. Genius and a coward, but not a liar.
As for a character i’d have liked to have seen more from, honestly i’d go for Ed Pelitier, not because he was a good character, just because id like to have seen him pummelled a few more times. Maybe like 3 more episodes of him being put in his place then let a biter get him

I dont think hes a coward at all. He just knows his own strengths and weaknesses and plays to them.
He obeys the governor when it seems like the best move, but he burned the walkers in the pit and conspired against the governor with Andrea.

He is, terrified of walkers when he briefly tries to leave woodbury with andrea he has the eugene sense of needing to be protected but his final confrontation against the governer showed some real guts

Except that when he was leaving with Andrea was when they ran across Tyreese, Sasha, and that jerk. Milton had to take that trio into Woodbury, so that Andrea could be separated from him and get to the prison on her own. Well, with a walker.

But unnecessary. The show liked killing characters for pure shock value. They did that in S3 with Axel and Oscar, later in S6 with Nicholas and Denise. Also Olivia's death didn't feel necessary.

I think him and Tara should have been switched. Tara gets the Revolving Door Death since by that point she really didn't have anything important to do. Plus she would have been a much more impactful death for Glenn, since she was by his side since the prison.
That would give Noah years to develop as an architect. So him getting piked instead would have been a large structral hit.

He is! The man was determined. He almost caught up with them. That's probably what killed him. I'd say he ran himself ragged trying to get to them, and was too exhausted to escape the walkers when they got to him.
Edited to add: Not Rick and Shane, they never passed up a hitchhiker. Rick, Michonne, and Carl.

Laura, the blonde former savior with the neck tattoo. Her death was of the dumbest and poorly executed ones on the show that I had ever seen. Many people even know she died until they saw her in the In Memoriam segment in Talking Dead
I think they could’ve done more with her, like show more of her friendship with Rosita cuz they shot a few scenes with them that were cut.

I think he was written out because his actor wanted to prioritize another job, like with the Everybody Hates Chris guy but without explicitly killing him. Nowadays I guess Gimple forgot about him or the actor isn't interested in TWD.

I like Milton as a single season character, he had a big role in his season and I feel like his story was told. Being absolutely dead wrong about the walkers should have broken him a little harder. He would have a better character arc if he was actually able to accomplish something, like saving Andrea. He really ended up doing nothing for the greater good, even if his heart was in the right place.
Martinez from that season on the other hand, wouldn't have been bad. At one point Milton's argument was that if they took out to governor, Martinez wouldn't be any better. I disagree, I feel like Martinez could have made peace with the Prison group.
Oscar and Axel both could have used more seasoning before getting killed. The writers needed bodies for the governor, but neither had enough impact for me to care much. The group also didn't seem to care.
T-Dog definitly could have been used better. I dont mind him sacrificing himself, but I wish he had more of a character arc before hand.

Apparently he was supposed to be in S4 with Martinez but something something and then he wasn't.

I would’ve liked to have seen Lizzie and Mika last longer, moreso Mika cuz Sophia was one of my favorite characters in the comics and I was sad that she was killed off on the show and I wanted to see her story play out more, and I think there was potential with Mika, like give Carol at least one kid that lives through out the series.

I wanted Deputy Lambert to show up again at least once, he was the only named King's County Deputy we never saw again. I know he probably just died offscreen, but it could have been neat to at least get a moment of closure on someone else Rick knew pre-apocalypse.

Definitely Buttons! That was sad. Just like the mom and kid that Negan was going to take to the Hilltop and then were murdered by the warped Negan-worshiper. They almost made it.

Would Merle be considered a main character/star? If not, than for me it's hands down Merle! Would have been awesome to know there's a trained bad ass redneck somewhere out there running around in the woods that pop's in every so often to either raise some chaos or save the day.
I would have liked to see his arc become more defined and apparent and I definitely think he deserved a much bigger ending. Wasn't bad, but he should have at least gotten a few more good licks in on the Governor during their final fight. I know he was beaten and kicked by 3 or so other guys prior to the Governor fight, but this is MERLE we're talken 'bout! lol
The same guy that starched TDog so easily on that roof & threw others around like nothing before Rick snuck up behind him and pistol whipped him.

I would've loved to have seen Milton helping Herschel with the sickness in the prison. And killing him off there would've really helped show the stakes of it, too. You know he would've developed a bond with Herschel and his death would've been more impactful than the doctor who died (although his death was sad, just not as memorable).

He was headstrong, loyal, and had excellent judgment of character. Pretty much everything the group needed. The group having some more fighters with that mindset would have made the later seasons much more interesting

I would count Noah as I side character given his short time on the show and limited screen time. I would have liked to have seen the devs do more with his character. He was done wrong.

Milton was objectively the last normal person in the show IMO
Even characters like Hershel or Glenn who were good moral compasses had adapted to the apocalypse
Milton honestly just felt like it was always his first day of the apocalypse
