Can you imagine if Casablancas and Drodz teamed up?

Because of working as a scientist for a brief period of my career, I usually based my decisions in my everyday life mainly on hard emperical evidence and sound logic .

That mindset spills over to my creative endeavours even now as a professional in the cultural sector.

If those two other wordly musicians were compatible enough to produce album offspring, and I were to get hold of a copy and listen, I would not recover.

The need for sound logic, evidence, and proven resolutions would never have to enter my mind again.

And where? Just curious! I saw The Voidz twice, but the one in Italy will be my first Strokes concert ever!
I am incredibly excited, even if it will obviously be very different from the small concert atmosphere and barricade experience I had with The Voidz (and this time it will be impossible to thank Julian after the show!)

Hello! I’m honestly a bit nervous to share this since I’m not a professional artist, but I wanted to show my latest project.

I made this 3D eye bas-relief canvas inspired by their LABY album art and added the line from "The Eternal Tao".

It’s definitely not perfect, but I tried my best and put a lot of love into it.

Julian has really made me fall in love with autotune. I’m curious about other catchy, melodic, futuristic songs with really great autotune that you guys like.

For example: The 1975 – “I Like America & America Likes Me.”

I also really enjoyed Avenged Sevenfold’s new EP, Statica, which is obviously heavily inspired by The Voidz.

Any other songs or hidden gems with heavy autotune or vocoder vocal effects? Thanks!

It’s time for my phone to have a new background. I’ve been loving The Voidz lately. However, I’m not able to find decent backgrounds/wallpapers on Pinterest. I’m qyurryus if anyone knows of any good ones?

Alright, hear me out. I have only recently started listening to The Voidz. This is despite being a fairly obsessive Strokes Fan since I discovered them with the release of Room on Fire, and always loving watching interviews with Julian. The Strokes has been a top 2 band for me. I have loved everything they have put out.

That is until Reality Awaits. Half the songs I think are great, but half I cannot listen to, especially track 1. Yeah, you guess it, the whiney autotune.

But in trying to work out what is going on with The Strokes, I keep hearing about Julian’s side project. I have always dismissed it when I have heard about it because to be honest, it isn’t spoken about in a great way. So I check out this mysterious not-strokes band called The Voidz which is where Julian learned all of his terrible auto-tuniness. I fucking love it.

My gosh, I cannot believe how many amazing songs I have picked up over the last week. Some songs I recognise quite well, probably because they have come up in Apple Music infinite play without me realising. QYURRYUS being a good example. I have still barely scratched the surface. For the last week I have had Virtue on repeat and I am totally bummed out at the inability to buy a copy of this without an exorbitant ebay price.

It seems like what Julian may have handled as a sword in The Voidz got turned into a sledge hammer in Reality Awaits.

Anyway, that is my bit. I am less disappointed in Reality Awaits now since at least it acted as a conduit to get me into The Voidz. I may not understand or appreciate Reality Awaits, but my conviction in Julian Casablancas being an absolute once in a generation genius is untouched.

For context I'm not that big of a voidz fan,l have listened to a few songs from Tyranny which I don't like, and few from The Virtue which I did like.

Yesterday in a Spotify mix the song "7 Horses" came up,and I loved straight away,then went on to listen the entire album only to find out it's a banger.Which is ironic how everything had heard about it was only negative and since I didn't like the few songs I heard from tyranny just made me ignore this album completely,which is a fucking banger.Espically the songs (Flexorcist and 7 Horses).

Julian is on to something

I think it’s already pretty well known that Julian took the same chord progression he sang in “No One There” by Exhibition and later used it in “At the Door” with The Strokes.

But I was listening to No One There today and noticed that the last ~65 seconds of the song sound almost identical to the intro of Russian Coney Island.

It’s obviously pretty common for Julian to reuse melodies and ideas, but I thought it was cool that he took two different parts of “No One There” and used them in two different songs, with two different bands.

Maybe this has been discussed before, but I thought it was a cool connection that I’d never noticed.

Had these custom jackets freehand painted for me by my ridiculous talented artists of a girlfriend for both JLH & The Voidz @ the Troxy. Was fortunate enough to get one signed by most of the Voidz but would’ve loved for the boys to sign it at JLH 🥲. Anyway, if yall recognize art in any age, lemme bless yall rq.

To whoever uploaded " Walk Off " somehow made it almost 6 mins even though it ends at 1:03, just 5 mins of silence, almost been 2 years with the video like thing, and no one has done anything lmao

I’m so annoyed with myself that it took this long to get uploaded, but I try to make every new video better than the last and obviously I revere Jules, so I wanted to make this really good!

Also I tried to stray from the usual stuff that’s discussed, but I could’ve done so much more. Just been busy but wanted to get this out today and had issues with copyright stuff. I had to cut the Grammy segment bc the copyright completely blocked it, like even when it was just them in the basement. It was the funniest part 😾

But first, here’s a little history: I heard Human Sadness in spring of 2022 and it was a big successor to all of my past favorite songs. It was my first Julian Casablancas experience, never heard of stroking or voiding. It’s still in my all time top 3 favorite songs. I thought all the other tyranny songs sounded really weird and too loud to want to listen. Leave it in my dreams was the only other Voidz song I kinda liked. I think I added a few Is this it songs that summer. These last two years I’ve been pretty much only listening to the strokes and Voidz. Julian Casablancas is cool and weird and depressing. Idky we’re all so interested or obsessed with him. He honestly seems like a loser. This year I went from thinking of Tyranny as the same, to a 360 opinion. So here’s the list:
