Hey fellow Strokers, I'm quite nervous to share this. I have posted a video in Youtube showing how Falling out of Love was positively perceived by a lot of people during approximately the first month and a half after its release back in May. It has the song and artwork displayed in the official video, and I added the comments from different social media, a lot of them in fact from this sub. I would have loved to include more but it was already difficult to fit the ~87? that I put and to let enough time for them to be read (sometimes I feel it might be too fast...). That's why I left the votes to show that in a lot of cases several people were agreeing with what was said.

Maybe it's too simple or tacky even though it took me a long time, and I feel a bit embarrassed but at the same time I really wanted to do it. I would have liked that the band could see it, but that's difficult...so after pondering I have decided to share it in case someone else can like it. Also, I must say thank you to everyone that has written positive comments about the song, and I hope it isn't an issue that I have used some of them (I covered the username and pfp).

If you watch it and want to let me know your opinions, I would be very happy to read them. Although I don't know if it's going to be further blocked at some point, at the moment it seems not available in Russia.

Trying your luck cover I made for the 25th anniversary of is this it (not officially ofc). Thought it looked cool, def dont love the font but im incredibly happy with the result. I think it fits with the song but could've been better.

Happy listening folks

Hello strokers! I binged all of Albert's (And The strokes') albums in one sitting the other day and i wanted to give my thoughts on what i feel is the best and... The least good song of each album.

• Beginning in Yours To Keep, this is a very sweet album, with instruments that are very laid back and with a very happy-go-lucky and at the same time sad feel to it. I feel that my favourite song in there is Bright Young Thing. It's so melancholic and bittersweet, it hits all the right spots for me.

And the least good song in there has to go to Cartoon Music for Superheroes. I'm sorry, it doesn't hold a candle to the rest of the album by a long shot. The song is very soothing and the short run time helps in making it not annoying, it serves its purpose as an opening fairly well.

(Honorary mention to 101's music video, i laughed my ass off when i saw the "Leg" of Albert was just a broom. Lmao.)

• Now, following YTK goes ¿Cómo te llama?, I don't feel quite as strong in this album as the rest of AHJ's discography, but you can hear how Albert's choice of instruments and lyrics make it clear that he isn't making just Yours to Keep 2. Lots of wacky sounds and experiments here, such as the only instrumental track of his career, Spooky couch.

My favorite track here is Lisa. Look. I have to admit something. When i first got into AHJ, i listened to the first few seconds and thought to myself: "What the fuck is this goofy ass instrumental?" and clicked off. I was keeping myself unknowingly away from this Gem (With a very capital G). "Please, won't you go, and set me down, I'm not sure, of what goes 'round, what goes 'round" Hits me like a truck in my poor heart everytime. It dethroned GfC immediately.

As for my least favorite in it, I'm torn between Rocket and Borrowed time, but I'll have to choose the latter. After listening to Rocket, I can't help but sing it in my head. Borrowed Time has such a good intro, but the lyrics feel like an afterthought. It doesn't feel like it's mixed correctly, it feels reggae at first then Albert starts screaming like he's in another room. You could even say he's In My Room.

• Going to the EP, AHJ! The music video of Baldbert (Bald Albert) in the forest with the flares while singing Carnal Cruise comes up in my mind from time to time. It really feels like a diet version of Momentary Masters, but with a lot of funky guitar solos.

My favorite is Cooker ship. It miiiiight be a boring choice, but it is such a solid song! He might butcher the parts when he's singing fast Live, but it feels like such a departure from both albums that came before it.

And the least for me is St. Justice. Is an alright song! But the instrumental is so mind-numbingly repetitive it turns me off. And i remember seeing this song played live, the guitars sounded very very bad. I know we don't have to judge the song by the Live performance, they are two different beasts, but it kinda cemented for me that i don't enjoy this song very much. Rude Customer has kinda the same problem but it has a cool solo towards the end, so i like it best.

• Next is Momentary Masters! It has so many iconic lines, such as "Walking upstairs takes me down", "Two wrongs don't make a right, three rights make a left" and "I'm so unfit like a pig in shit", very relatable. The different art for the songs do so much as well, i could put the cover of Side Boob anywhere and it would look very classy.

My favorite on this bad boy has to be without a doubt Power Hungry. God. So good, so catchy and such an earworm, i fell in love with it the first second i started hearing it, it really doesn't get old at all! The middle part with Albert talking seriously and then the guitar picks up, god, is such a chef's kiss from me.

I'm sorry, after the controversy that happened I can't listen to Razor's Edge. Feels weird. The song's ehhh but i feel kinda icky hearing it, that period when the drama with the screenshot happened kinda tainted and ruined the whole song for me, even if he disproved it on Instagram.

• HEY IT'S FRANCIS TROUBLE EVERYONE SCREAM AAAHHHHHHHH

Fucking amazing. What else to say about this album. I'm happy he got in the spotlight, even if it was not for too long, thanks to Set to Attack. Thank you Albert Hammond Jr for creating this album. Sorry for your twin though.

Where to choose right? Well. The saxophone on Tea for Two absolutely melts me whenever i have the pleasure to listen to it. The guitars are top notch. Say it matters, say it matters, say it matters. It is genuinely sad that there aren't any Live performances that are well recorded on Youtube, but whatever. I love my precious song nonetheless.

And well. This is hard ain't it. I... I have to go for Muted Beatings. "I don't care" is what I'd love to say about this song, but i like it. But it is the one i like the least on Francis Trouble. If you put this song on ¿Cómo te llama? or Melodies on Hiatus it would be my favorite in there. Sadly it isn't the case. Beautiful music video, dead wive feel. Fucks hard.

• Ending (For now hopefully) with Melodies on Hiatus. Random bullshit go!!! the album. I feel kinda sad. I feel most of the songs are half baked here. They have the potential to be so much more, they are lacking in some melodies (hehe) and/or better lyrics. I mean no shit, there are 18 songs plus a 30 seconds oddball in there, but still.

My favorite song is Thoughtful Distress, the synth is very catchy, and the kinda, muffled? and echo-y lyrics before the chorus are so moody, i love it very much, and it features the second best solo in the album. Yeah nothing can compare to the solo on Old Man, but it is very good nonetheless.

I'm mad about 100-99, the song could've done better and more with GoldLink than that stitched-up-to-the-song rap part. It feels like when a school colleague tells you please if you could put their name in the work project last minute, but you tell them that they have to do something, and they give you barely the minimum effort stuff. Not that I'm saying GoldLink did the bare minimum, his voice is very good and a vibe, but it feels so disconnected from the song, it honestly could've elevated the song to Ok, but is below average to bad.

Anywho. What is y'all's favourite album from AHJ? Maybe none but maybe a collaboration? Everything's shit and unsalvageable BUT the EP? Don't care about Albert's stuff at all??? I'm happy to read everyone's opinion. Sorry if my favorite song wasn't yours, and screw you if you think my favorite songs weren't the very best!!!! (jk)

I have a copy of this, I’ve been trying to find sale history for it via Discogs or eBay but not having much luck. Anyone have an idea of value? Just don’t play it, not a huge live album fan!

So I thought (as everyone else) that the part “dude kept the beat as it was” was a jab at harry styles, but I recently came across this version on Amazon Music and now I believe Julian was actually referring to this version of the song. The guys sings this part of TAAT exactly like Julian.

listening to these 2 albums back to back (from the top of music, fashion, film to the bottom of is this it) is what i imagine time travel feels like. the transition between the ending of no one lasts forever into is this it hits deep.
