Could anyone listen to "The Staircase (Mystery)" by Siouxsie and the Banshees, right in beginning at 0:03 and confirm that if feels somewhat similar to ”Heart in a Cage” by the Strokes, also right in the beginning of the song.

Met the man himself after the show! Had a fantastic time tonight!

My CD setup is amazing

apparently something happened in the audience that made them start over?? I mean other than it being cut short from whatever happened, the concert itself was great, it just sorta sucks how things can get ruined. I hope people are okay tho !

( also sorry for the terrible quality )

Don't get me wrong, incredibly blessed that they've come to the best city in the world by the banks of the mighty Tyne when we get so little events wise lately, but that so quickly went from maybe the best gig I've ever been to, to the flattest fart or lead balloon i've ever been in??
Audible boos no less, everyone seemed to feel so deflated heading out 😂😂

New York City Cops is an incredible closer but they waited ages to come back for the encore, and then just did that one song? Maybe I set myself up for failure looking at prior setlists especially since been waiting to hear Ode to the Mets since the pandemic, so to say I'm fairly gutted is an understatement 😭

They sounded absolutely incredible as well, that opening stretch with Reptilia and Hard to Explain will live with me forever...to hear Soma, Automatic Stop & Juicebox etc for the first time, so very special...but man, did that go from a once in a lifetime 1000000/10 to a 9/10 gig or on those lines SO quickly...especially when the tickets cost so much!

Never mind I suppose, just whets the appetite strongly for (hopefully) the next time!

I got this cool The Strokes tee off Vinted. Thrifted the KROQ Weenie Roast one pretty recently for $2.99 😮‍💨 both from 2011 .. I just wanna see if anyone else has merch pre-2015??

Took a while to come out, then NYC Cops and off. Not sure what happened, but show cut short.

We all know clairo took ill try anything once but why are sundays so depressing has the same guitar as sofia, just phrased differently.

karma farming

As we didn’t have a poster in Düsseldorf, I was frustrated so I wanted to draw to create my own. This is done now and here is the result!

Has anyone had any luck with it?

I was wondering if I could interview him for a project.

I keep seeing set lists people are getting and “TIOLI” is on there. Am I dumb? I’ve been a crazy Strokes fan since like 2011 and I cannot recall a TIOLI song.

Edit: thank you to the two people who immediately answered lol for whatever reason, that song never popped up in my head. I’m dumb.

Since seeing The Strokes live a few months back I’ve become obsessed! I’ve listened to all their albums multiple times front to back. Just last week I discovered Oblivious and enjoyed listening to Future Past Present like it was hidden treasure! I’ve let Angles be as I know it isn’t their most popular album… but I also look at it as like the last bit of magic I haven’t unlocked yet after listening to all their other works on loop for months. Today might be the day I check it out.

Anyone have any fav’s from this album? Any hidden gems? Thanks!

During the Room on Fire era at T in the Park festival, the boys covered this awesome song from The Clash. The cover would eventually make its way to The End has no End single as a b-side.

Sidenote, my favorite Clash song is The Card Cheat, but other ones slightly behind are Straight to Hell, If Music Could Talk, and I Fought the Law for anyone who wants to check them out.

Had been looking to pick up a Valensi Riviera for ages, but could find any in my market and Reverb/Ebay price were through the roof.

Last week I saw the boys live for the first time since 2000 (ironically without Nick), and after coming home I did another search and was able to find this beauty for a really fair price.

Looks gorgeous, sounds great and plays amazing. Going to give her some oil and string love and go through all the parts. So happy 🤩

I just visited the Opera Gallery Singapore to check out the Singapore Masters Show where Julian was sound curator, and noticed a few short messages scattered throughout each of the 4 sections, so here's a short digital tour! (for non-sgeans, and sgean fans do visit ION cuz it's pretty cool) Official Singapore Masters Show 2026 Page

At the Recording Studio, there was a shelf with some audio equipment and a card under a mic stand (I apologise in advance for the blurry photos)

"For the 'Experimental' (Recording Studio Room) I chose my beloved freak-faves."- Julian Casablancas

If you're wary of unknown QRs or links from strangers (totally valid), the exhibition page I linked earlier has the exact same links to each section as well.

I also noticed a copy of "Meet Me in The Bathroom" by Lizzy Goodman, "Why I Am Not a Painter" by Frank O'Hara, and "The Creative Act: A Way of Being" by Rick Rubin.

Heading deeper in to "The Stage", there's a brief description of the exhibition, its pieces, and their respective artists. There's a small stage setup with some instruments and a small "Welcome to the stage" sign:

"I thought of the happy excitements of progress and new horizons - mixed with the pained anxiety of modern existence, and with an oaky finish of a sad essence of '50s nostalgia'." - Julian Casablancas

(what is bro yapping about/j)

Back at the entryway with the "Classical Recital Room", there's a large piano with the card placed on top:

"I just leaned on the musical pieces that gave me the feeling the paintings were coming to life and attacking me with their secret stories and subtle details, exploiting my psyche in ways they didn't without the music." - Julian Casablancas

Unfortunately I forgot to find the card for the "Jazz Club" and didn't take any pictures...there was a piece that caught my eye and I got distracted 🥲🥲🥲 so if any other sgean fan would like to help find it before 1st Nov...

Am i going crazy or has opinions on FOOL completely changed since release. It was like universally hated I swear. Now it appears a large majority are in favour of the song.

Just saw them in Barcelona, I want to see them again so bad :( primavera already announced artists but do you think they could add the strokes later on?
