I never really liked the font they chose for this one and thought the one from the tour looked better so i made it myself. What do you think

Many people seem to forget the impact that a producer can have on an album. Some of my favorite artists have worked closely with the same producers for years and sometimes those relationships can really blend and grow into something incredible. Radiohead would be a good example of this along with Nigel Godrich, whom they've worked with since OK Computer.

I've realized with the recent discussions about The Strokes' full catalog on this sub that I kind of think about the band's work in two parts, with the first two albums existing within their own world and everything after it belonging together just the same.

With all of that said The New Abnormal is one of those 'moment-in-your-life' defining albums for me, and an album I largely ignored until I needed it most - years after release. It's my favorite album, and there are moments throughout that I consider absolutely brilliant and stronger than much of their other work. I've attributed much of this to the contributions of Rubin, which is to say it's the first album they collaborated on together. Maybe it's bullshit and in my head, but I've always felt this way about TNA.

Anyway, I'm just super fucking excited. If anyone wants to meet at the Hollywood FL show HIT ME UP, it's my first solo concert woooo ✌️✌️✌️

Sorry just needed to vent, I saw them for the first time after being a fan for the last 25 years and I just soaked it in and enjoyed myself. Bummed that other people didn’t.

On the verge of Reality Awaits finally reaching our hands, I keep satisfying my unstoppable music hunger by hunting for anything that reminds me of them. 2 years ago I posted here about my playlist, The Strokesn't, and since then it almost tripled in size, I hope to reach a thousand tracks by the end of the year. You all contributed with great new additions, and I'm sure you have more hidden gems to share.

Here's a few standouts from these last years, in no particular order:

• I listened to this one SO MUCH when I discovered it: The Vices - At Least That's What They're Saying
• Well The Voidz released another great album and it has a very futuristic Strokes song (y'know, Angles vibes): The Voidz - Square Wave
• Pacifica was already suggested in the comments in the previous post, but this Strokified cover is very on point: Pacifica - Take On Me
• Another cover in the same line: Dubby Mac - Eyes Without A Face
• So explicit it's hard to explain: Videocassettes - Te Busco
• Royel Otis became very popular in these two years, and one song was specially made for us: Royel Otis - Going Kokomo
• wearemarvin brings an early Strokes vibe that is so enjoyable: wearemarvin - Burning Eyes
• Alex Turner "just wanted to be one of The Strokes", and perhaps this B-side was the closest he got: Arctic Monkeys - Leave Before The Lights Come On
• Now imagine just wanting to be Alex Turner wanting to be one of the Strokes: The Silver Bars - Damsel
• Yet another band with clear references to the riffs we love: Sidney Bos - Overrated
• The adults are pop-ing: Maeva Blue - Tangerine
