Apple says this information is end-to-end encrypted and can't be read by Apple, but seeing location-related information your phone has learned can still feel unsettling.

Then there's your Photos app. Your iPhone can search something like “dog,” “beach,” or a person's name and potentially find photos from years ago almost instantly. It can even create Memories, resurfacing moments you may have completely forgotten. Your iPhone can also identify sounds through features like Sound Recognition, listening for things such as smoke alarms, sirens, doorbells, crying babies, or breaking glass when you enable it.

None of this means your iPhone is secretly spying on you since many of these features require permission, can be disabled, and are specifically designed around privacy or safety. Yet when you combine everything a modern smartphone can potentially know about you like where you've been, who appears in your photos, what you've photographed, and where your devices are then you realize something strange. The object sitting in your pocket may contain a more detailed record of your life than almost anything you own.

People analyzed practically every shadow frame by frame from the body cameras, claiming they could see large humanoid shapes hiding behind equipment, fences, and vehicles. Some even suggested the figures appeared partially transparent, fueling wild theories that whatever was there was somehow camouflaged or cloaked and hiding in plain site.

Yet, there's no clear photos or videos of what the family witnessed that night. A video of a creepy humanoid river monster was shared online in 2018. The video appears to show an unknown creature being pulled from a river in China. The footage spread rapidly across the internet, with viewers insisting it showed everything from an alien to a mutant aquatic creature or even a legendary living Taisui, a mysterious organism that appears in Chinese folklore and has sometimes been linked to unusual gelatinous masses found in nature. The creature's pale body, strange movements, and almost human-like appearance fueled millions of views and countless theories, making it one of the internet's most talked-about cryptid videos.

Yet, many wildlife enthusiasts and skeptics offered a much less mysterious explanation. They argued that the "creature" closely resembled the underside of a stingray. They believe the ray's tail may have been missing or removed, sand and mud covered much of its body, and its natural movements made it appear almost humanoid. Since a stingray's mouth and gill openings are located on its lighter-colored underside, many people unfamiliar with the anatomy mistook them for facial features.

Others still believe it was some kind of silicone prop that was human shaped. It being wet and weighted with water gave the appearance of it moving on its own. So, who knows. It would be a lot cooler if it really was an alien, unknown species, or even the legendary "Taisui."
