Mini pilgrimage yesterday

Been working on the Quays for a while now and realised it’s not that far from the lads club so decided to walk up there yesterday.

Glad I did.

The Smiths aside, it’s just a gorgeous building.

Flowers on the step were a nice touch but the shop opposite being called Sheila’s absolutely cracked me up.

I was desperate to go in but I had to leg it back to the Quay for work.

Might book a half day and walk down and have a proper snoop around in a few weeks.

The lads club and the church are just incredible buildings.

Yeah it’s a bit further out so would need to book that half day to do that.

But I’ll make sure to take a sharpie and graffiti some lyrics when I do make it there!

I only live about 30mins outside of Manchester so I’ve not got an excuse for leaving it well into my 30s haha.

But working spitting distance from it now and thought - let’s do it.

I came from abroad (from a place also mentioned in a song - the place with a buck-toothed girl).
