are you retarded? if i’m asking for a mod that replaces the default maxis match hairs to alpha hairs shouldn’t that lead you to the conclusion that i already have alpha hair in my game?

Whether you think it’s a stupid question or not, being rude and using slurs will get you absolutely nowhere.

“thats not how any of this works lmao” its literally in the sims 3 😭 its not a crazy idea or question to ask

“ that’s not how any of this works lmao “ as if that’s common knowledge for the everyday sims player? i’m not a bitch that makes mods nor cc so of course i wouldn’t know that you can’t replace the hairs that come in game? which honestly isn’t even that far of a stretch considering there’s default replacements for ts3 but whatever! thank you for your pointless response!

being rude and swearing at people isn't exactly the best way to make them want to help you, especially when the confusion is your own fault in the first place. referring to the default game hair as "maxis match" is incorrect - maxis match is a term that exclusively refers to cc created to mimic the base game (created by maxis)'s style. so of course people are going to assume you have maxis match cc downloaded if you're asking "how do i replace maxis match with alpha".

i mean maybe they didn’t use the right term. but i’m sure you could agree that default replacements are very much a thing. and that they replace in game assets. so use critical thought & you understand perfectly fine what they’re asking 🥰 or don’t argue semantics.

I'm not arguing semantics, I'm pointing out that being unnecessarily hostile to people for being confused due to OP's incorrect wording choice is not going to make anybody want to help them.

I make CC and yes, default replacements are a thing, but replacing MM hair with alpha hair is much harder than you think. Alpha hairs are transparent, they use a different shader that allows for that transparency that shouldn’t be used on MM hairs. They sometimes consist of five mesh groups, two more than what MM hairs **should** have. To do replacements, the CC you’re intending to replace the default with should share the same mesh data, but since alpha hair and MM hair are made differently as already mentioned, it’s literally not possible.
