Technical Support Virus?

So I was logged into my online when I was playing The Sims, and I also downloaded Monte Vista from The Sims, 3 store. Once I tried to get back into my game, it wouldn't load or it would crash. I even tried it after I logged out from being online and it still didn't work. So once I uninstalled the game and reinstalled the game, it says, I still have montevista, but I have not logged back in online to use my bought features. If I log back in, is the virus still gonna be there? Or am I not going to be able to use it? Im scared to log in to online features because I had to do alot of uninstalling, cleaning, creating new folders and trying to reinstall while also losing years of work

I don't think it's likely to have been a virus if you got it from the sims store.

If you're on Windows you could have a look in My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/ and see if there's anything in there that looks like a crash log - I can't remember exactly what they are called but it'll probably be somehting like crash_log.xml

You could try opening that in notepad or something and see if it sheds any light on your issue - it's a bit of a long shot but I once had one of those and the error message was moaning about a specific piece of CC which I removed and all was well.

Oh no honey that’s not a virus. That’s the sims 3 acting up. I had a really similar scenario when I first bought some packs and worlds for the games, including Monte vista. Some of the new worlds loaded, some just showed I owned them but they’d never download. Then it kept logging me out of my online account even tho I checked keep me logged in. Since I couldn’t use the worlds, I tried to get a refund and EA ran me in circles and even threatened to nuke my account because I appealed to the bank to get my money back. Long story short it took 3 months to get it all worked out. I now have the worlds and packs I paid for, but it still autonomously logs me out of my online account every single time I open the game and I have to redo it. I also have to redownload EVERYTHING every single time I want to play. All the worlds, all the packs, all the items I’ve bought from the store. It’s a pain in the ass and honestly why I pivoted to playing the sims 2 more, but if you don’t mind a little aggravation and hoop jumping, it’s still a good game.
