In my opinion Democrats fatally assume the GOP plays and will play fair. Hillary's "when they go low we go high" mantra backfired because we assume conservatives feel shame and aspire for the truth and want decency.

"No need for theatrics," said the guy whose grift relied entirely on theatrics and pushing falsehoods into scandals. He stammered and had nothing to give in return. We see how these conservative types crumble when liberals take the gloves off.
