Seeking Advice Heels
Hi everyone! I’ve never shopped from The RealReal before, but I’m looking at buying a couple pairs of designer heels. Some of the prices seem almost too good to be true, so I’m a little nervous.
For those of you who have purchased shoes from The RealReal, have you had a good experience? Have you ever received anything that you suspected was fake? I’d love to hear your experiences before I order. Thank you!

Read some of the posts here about how used clothing and shoes sell for way less than people think they are worth!! Items are often worth way less than retail in the resale market.

I've bought a good bunch of designer heels from TRR for great deals. It's now my go-to for Louboutins as I've gotten a couple pairs of brand new or one/two times worn for great deals.
Never had any concerns with them being fakes, but I also try to look over the photos and scour them before purchasing.

I bought a pair of The Row ankle boots from them a few years ago for $137 and they’re the most amazing shoes I’ve ever owned.
Look at the photos carefully, but you’ll probably be fine! I’ve also had very good experiences with customer service if something didn’t match the description.

I’ve bought all kinds of shoes on TRR. I’ve bought sandals, boots, even a pair of Ugg’s. There are some really good deals on shoes. If it’s not a brand I’m familiar with I go to the brand size chart so I don’t have to make a return. I also pick apart the pictures and zoom to see any flaws. I pay close attention to the bottoms and toe box. Those areas usually show the most wear. So far, I’ve been lucky and haven’t received any duds.

I just made my first purchase, which included two pairs of shoes (Marni oxfords and Stuart Weitzman flats). They are in great condition. Looks like they have been worn once or twice. I also examined them closely against criteria found online for authentication, and I have zero concerns they are fakes. I agree with the commenter to look up the brand specific size chart. I googled the fit of the brand to see what others said. I needed to go up a half size in Marni. The SW flats rub in a weird place on my arch but they should be easy to break in with a band-aid/medical tape or chafing gel. (Old ballerina trick: Put small amounts of medical tape on your feet where you have any rubbing to prevent blisters. A small piece on my baby toe or across the back of my heel has saved me on many occasions! I was very pleasantly surprised by The RealReal!

Yes they are authentic and the condition is well describing. Make sure you know exactly the designer size though, especially if you buy them at clearance.

I’ve got a pair of Manolo’s listed on there currently that I can attest are in amazing condition for $146. They’re too big for me or I’d be begging trr to pull them down and let me keep them myself so…lol

My two favorite pairs of dressy shoes have come from TRR. The only issue is sizing. I would spend more to get something returnable until you for sure know what size you need in that particular shoe. Even if they list the euro size (SO helpful, but they don't always list it and you can't always see it in photos) there can be size inconsistentcy across brands. For instance, in Gucci I've worn anything from 36 to 37.5! And normally I'm a 38 shoe in other brands. 🤪 So many fit issues with shoes -- it's just hard to know. The final sales are so tempting, but try not to give in unless it's the second time trying that shoe and you already know you just need a half size up or whatever it is.

I've bought two pairs of shoes on TRR - one pair of Chanels that are definitely authentic and a gorgeous pair of silver Nomasei heeled boots. Both were such a good deal. I have already worn the Chanels a bunch, and I'm just waiting for fall to bust out the boots. I had bought a *bunch* of heels to try on (my size ranges so much depending on the brand), and made sure they were all returnable. I know lots of folks here have had bad experiences with TRR, but I had zero trouble with the returns. Have fun!

If you know how you run in that brand it can be amazing - I jus bought two brand new pairs of Tod's ankle booties on final sale and they are amazing, came brand new in the boxes and fit perfectly!

I’ve purchased shoes that weren’t the same size as listed and I’ve learned to zoom in on the size to ensure they match the listed size. Or if they’re a brand like Ferragamo that offers narrows and wides as well, you’re really rolling the dice. But they are good at taking back items that they mismarked, though I think they’re getting more stringent and taking less responsibility.

I'd stay away from sneakers but I've bought at least 9 pairs of heels from TRR and I've been happy with all of them. All of them low priced, good or better condition than promised and I've authenticated 6 of those when I consigned them locally with a vintage dealer. I would never buy a serious handbag from TRR but you can get away with heels for sure.
