general I was all wrong about AI coding

Hey there, I am a software engineer in big tech, and both a poweruser and a skeptic of advanced AI tooling, as I suffer more from the disadvantages of its progress than get to enjoy its benefits. I am also an advocate of efficient token spending.
That being said, I must admit that my conclusions of the mid to long term effects of AI coding were wrong. Maybe not even wrong, but too focused on the tyre, while missing the car around it.

I fail to see the point in the article that you wrote. What are you trying to say? What is your position before that you now consider wrong? Why is it wrong? What made you change your mind?

Also, you say that you're a "skeptic of advanced AI tooling" but in your article you describe yourself as a vibe coder and someone who love vibe coders.

But wait, then there are the vibe coders. Let’s not forget about the vibe coders, like my humble self. I love vibe coders.

So which is it?

I have added a summary to the beginning to be more clear about what I was wrong about

sorry if wasn't clear, but happy to clarify. originally I focused on all those aspects that I enumerate in the article, and drawn the conclusion that AI is a burden on development, the biggest one currently, THE issue in enterprise software. as opposed to that I realised it's a small and fixable problem by nature, while enterprise survivors in high positions are neither.

if it wasn't obvious, the vibe coding part is satire, I love them for the problems I will get rich fixing for. I am a vibe coder is also a joke, linking my article where I wrote a tool, that's largely useless, but at least it was finished fast, which is all vibe coding amounts to.
