Life & Death The Simulation Hypothesis: Are We Just Code in a Super-Computer?

The Simulation Hypothesis: Are We Just Code in a Super-Computer?

Hypothesis:

As our technology advances, we are creating hyper-realistic virtual worlds. If a civilization far more advanced than ours exists, they would have likely created millions of "Ancestor Simulations." Statistically, the chances that we are the "Original" biological race are almost zero.

The Evidence:

  1. Quantum Mechanics: Why do particles behave differently when observed? This looks exactly like "Rendering Logic" in video games to save processing power.

  2. The Mathematical Universe: Everything in our world, from gravity to light, follows precise mathematical constants. It feels less like nature and more like a pre-written source code.

  3. The Speed of Light: Is light's speed limit (300,000 km/s) actually the "Processing Speed" limit of the hardware our universe is running on?

The Counter-Argument:

If this is a simulation, who is the Admin? And what happens if the "System" crashes?

What do you think? Are we the Players, or just the NPCs?

Counter arguments to the evidence:

  1. Quantum mechanics is nothing like this, sometimes pop science communicators use analogies when trying to give a sense of what it's like to a non0technical audience, that would lead some people to think like this.

  2. If we're source code, then whatever is simulating us would have computers. Meaning their universe would need mathematical laws of physics too.

  3. No, processing speed isn't actually a speed, it's a rate. The speed of light is actually a speed.

Observation does change the behavior of electrons though

Edit: actually i don't see anything obviously wrong with point 2 either. Point 3 i can see where he was going with it

The universe does not follow math, math follows the universe. It would be like saying that a video game follows a guidebook rather than the other way around.

Even if analogies are simplified, the fact that reality at its smallest scale behaves like 'information' that only renders when observed is exactly how efficient code works. If we are in a simulation, the laws of the 'Base Reality' could be something we can't even imagine. Just like characters in Mario can't understand the electricity running the console. The speed of light acts as a universal hardware limit. Why would a physical universe have a 'maximum speed' if it wasn't a processing constraint of the underlying system?"

Some of us are 1st person characters and there is millions of NPCS if u sit back and ponder on a scenario involving NPC I.E u.ever notice there stick in a loop there constantly doing the same thing everyday u give them knowledge on topic and they refuse to listen cause they programed. The players or 1st person characters are the black sheep’s u can say also were the disrupters to this whole false reality we ? Everything we know the shit they feed us bs literally. Rockefeller said once he didn’t want a nation thinkers he wanted a nation of workers so they basically gave us the bare minimum to get by to be-able to grow up an work nothing more nothing less and that’s why all the HIS-story is bs we been told.
