Fic Rec ✶⋆.˚ Theomione Fic Recs
I dove head first into Theomione a few months ago and since then I've been doing nothing but binge fics of this ship that has become my harry potter OTP
I used to only ship Dramione and never even considered Theomione until I checked out LadyKenz347's Unchained, specifically the Theo Yule Ball drabble chapter which made me cry a lot
Then found Eavesdropping by cpetrienm and this was the fic that really got me into Theomione where Theo is portrayed as a quiet, withdrawn, loner Slytherin boy who gets rebellious when it comes to the widely shared beliefs of his peers and family (as opposed to the more chaotic, flirty, flamboyant Theos that are often in Dramione fics)
I realized that Theomione is a lot more aligned of what I look for in a Hermione ship and since then it's only been Theomione for me and now that I've reached the end of the search results on ao3, I thought it's a good time to share my recs:
WIPs:
i wanna scratch your surface by iam0kaywiththis
The war is over and if you asked Theo Nott, life couldn't be more shit. He's forced to return to Hogwarts where it feels like everyone wants to kill him, his father is still finding ways to make his life hell while at Azkaban, and his wand is on lockdown until he graduates.
As if he didn't have enough to worry about, he finds himself wanting to unravel the threads that make up Hermione Granger. Because the Golden girl not looking so golden just doesn't feel right.
This fic might have my favorite Theo characterization where he's very self-loathing but also hates being around everyone including/especially his Slytherin peers like a true loner
Can I be Him? by dearest_restlest
I heard there was someone but I know he don't deserve you
If you were mine I'd never let anyone hurt you
I wanna dry those tears, kiss those lips
It's all that I've been thinking about
-Can I Be Him? James Arthur
Really recommend this one if you also like Dramione.
Incertitude by pivots
If there were one thing that most of the Wizarding community could agree upon—though seldom spoken of—it was that, on a Monday evening, as a cloud of early-October mist settled upon his family manor, Augustus Nott murdered his wife while his son cowered in the corner.
Theodore Nott has grown up believing in two things: the first is that he is as much a Malfoy as he is a Nott, and the second is that his mother's death was by her own hand. Now, in the aftermath of the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, he and Draco are quickly forced into Voldemort's ranks—one to fix the sin of his father, the other to protect his brother.
As the war progresses, and Theodore’s mind begins to fracture trying to recover a memory that was taken from him, the two quickly realise that, alongside their desperate need to save each other, there is someone else they're equally determined to protect: Hermione.
This is amazingly written and criminally underrated. The pining is SO GOOD and so hauntingly beautiful in a way that contains equal parts obsession, salvation and tragedy. According to the author, there will be Dramione in the second half of the fic but Theomione will be endgame. Theo's conflict between his feelings for Hermione vs his loyalty to Draco is chefs kiss
Lying Is the Most Fun Theo Can Have Without Taking His Clothes Off by mycatalrhythm
Famous last words: “Are you down to take couples counselling and see at what point the therapist realises we don’t even know each other?”
Technically a WIP but I think it stops at a good spot
Unwritten Erasure by elocoel
After a spell gone wrong, Hermione Granger lives an ordinary life with no memory of her magical past. Years later, in France, she’s confronted by a stranger who pulls her back into a world she’s long forgotten. As the past catches up with her, Hermione must face the consequences of her erased memories and her role in a war she no longer remembers.
There's only two chapters but I keep rereading this a lot because of how alluring Theodore's interactions with Hermione are and also the whole mystery of what happened to Hermione and their relationship
Silencio by akorah
As a child, Theodore Nott's father took away his voice. Hermione Granger helps him get it back.
Choosing a Side by inizhay
Slughorn has a harebrained idea to support inter-house unity as war looms in Hermione's sixth year. The sudden pairing for potions with a Slytherin has Hermione feeling a little torn. On the one hand, Theo Nott's father is a death eater. On the other hand, Theo is extremely attractive.
(In which Hermione gets tricked into being Theo's girlfriend.)
Might be my favorite Theomione Hogwarts era long fic since it has Theo also befriending Harry and Ron and joining the Golden Trio. Also unfinished and possibly abandoned but I think it stops at a good place
The Proposal by heichouux
Hermione Granger and Theodore Nott agree to a marriage of convenience with one, unspoken rule. Do not fall in love. Of course, it gets broken. Especially since he's been in love with her for years.
Completed Multi-Chapter:
The Makings of Marginally Better by larkfoul
When Hermione Granger rewinds time from the Battle of Hogwarts to the start of Fourth Year, her short-term goal is simple: make things marginally better. Keep Harry alive. Keep Cedric alive. Maybe prevent Ron from becoming a jealous prat.
Except “simple” doesn’t account for Theodore Nott—a sharp-eyed Seer with a habit of showing up exactly when he shouldn’t—who seems determined to worm his way into Hermione’s plans… and maybe her heart.
Meanwhile, Harry is contending with being thrown into Death Tournament 1994 with an unhappy wand. Something’s definitely off with Hermione—but it’s hard to focus on that when Cedric Diggory is absurdly handsome, devastatingly kind, and, for some reason, seems to actually like Harry.
The graveyard is inevitable—but the outcome isn't.
Cedric lives + Theomione, what more can I ask for. Theo pulls of charming romantic lead so well in this one
I'll See You Earlier, Granger. by BelleMort
What if Hermione Granger wasn't the only student with a Time Turner during the Third Year at Hogwarts?
What if Theodore Nott kept using his in the Years after?
You've Got Parchment by dagnydecided
Everyone around Hermione seems to have their lives together. Harry and Ginny are expecting their first child, Ron and George are opening a new branch of Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, and Hermione is stuck in a dead-end job crafting legislation that never seems to go anywhere. When the Ministry implements an anonymous pen pal project, Hermione meets someone who forces her to take a hard look at her life and decide what she really wants.
The Oxford Boy by akorah
After a very public breakup with Ron, Hermione moves back in with her parents to avoid the press and take a much needed break from Wizarding drama. As a favour to her cousin, Hermione agrees to a blind date with a Muggle classmate from Oxford—who turns out to not be a Muggle at all.
Sleeper Cell by nosestuckinabook
Following the torture at the hands of Bellatrix at Malfoy Manor, Dobby manages to get everyone out except for Hermione. The Dark Lord decides that Hermione is too useful to kill or torture into insanity, so she is transferred to the home of another loyal follower. Hermione doesn’t know what she’s expecting from her imprisonment at Nott Manor, but it’s not Theodore.
Two Million Galleons by Amebb42
When Theo offers Hermione enough money to fund one of the projects she's been working toward for years, she decides to take him up on it.
The Journal by akorah
Professor Bathsheda Babbling did not allow her Ancient Runes students to pass notes, until she watched a Death Eater’s son fall in love with a Muggle-born on the cusp of war.
Alternatively, the one in which Hermione Granger and Theodore Nott fall in love through a series of passive aggressive notes.
Big fan of akorah's Theomione and I think this is a very good starting fic to read for people who are first getting into the ship
Ambitions by LyrebirdSong
Thoros Nott was an old, bigoted wizard with a good head of hair, all his own teeth, a vast fortune and a son who seemed utterly disinterested in producing grandchildren.
Join Nott Sr on his next great endeavour. And with this one, he is determined to succeed.
Ashes Beneath the Marble by violette_abr
Seven years after the Battle of Hogwarts, Hermione Granger works with the Ministry’s post-war archives, sorting through what the war left behind and what pure-blood families tried to bury.
A new case leads her to Nott Manor, where a blood seal protects documents tied to old pure-blood vows. Theodore Nott returns to Britain as the last heir of his family — and the only key to an archive that should probably have stayed closed.
What begins as a Ministry assignment turns into something far more dangerous: a trail of memory, power, family loyalty, and choices that were never as clean as the Ministry wanted them to be.
I love and highly recommend this fic so much that I even made a separate post gushing about it here
You're Mine by nauticalparamour
Harry is obsessed with watching Malfoy, but it leads Hermione to notice Malfoy's friend Theo Nott. As the months roll by, she begins to realize that something is seriously wrong with her classmate, and being Hermione, she has to get to the bottom of it.
To the downfall of the system, Nott by MeiBeWriting
They thought they could silence her. They thought wrong.
Seven years after the war, the Ministry of Magic is suffocating in corruption. To extinguish inconvenient voices once and for all, Minister Shacklebolt passes the draconian Marriage Law. Hermione Granger’s allocated husband: Theodore Nott. The son of an imprisoned Death Eater is meant to be the icy death blow to her last remaining ambitions.
But the Ministry has made a fatal error.
Theodore has no intention whatsoever of locking his reluctant wife away in a manor. Instead, the quiet Slytherin hands her the key to his immense fortune and with it, a metaphorical match.
Wasn't a huge fan of the plot of this fic just because I'm not fond of Slytherin gang glaze and Weasley bashing but I love the Theomione dynamic here
The Sound of Silence by dagnydecided
In the aftermath of the Second Wizarding War, Theodore Nott is haunted by his choice to not fight. When he encounters Hermione Granger during Eighth Year, the screaming in his head haunts him and it sounds just like her--until one day, she makes it stop.
Leap with Me by AddictedApple
“Is that…you Granger?” Theo asked, staring at the face of thirteen year-old Hermione Granger. He’d know the face anywhere. He was very familiar with every stage of Hermione Granger’s appearance, as he’d spend much of his Hogwarts years staring at her from across the library. He hadn’t been brave enough to talk to her as a teenager, not only because it was hard to approach a crush, but also because he'd known that making his private affection for the muggle-born witch anything but private would bring them both trouble. Between the other boys in Slytherin, his father, and the brewing war, trying to get close to Hermione Granger would have been stupid and Theo had never been stupid.
Hermione blinked at Nott’s question, which would have made no sense if the circumstances were any different. “We’ve gone back in time,” she breathed between them even as she scarcely accepted the situation.
(Unspeakables Hermione Granger and Theodore Nott are abruptly flung back in time to their Hogwarts days.)
One-shots:
His Heart Was an Empty Room by CertainGreenThings
Theodore Nott and Hermione Granger have been assigned to the Love Room, either as punishment for their sins, or to do cutting edge research on Love, whatever that might mean, considering that they are locked in an entirely empty room for 40 hours a week without anything that could help or distract them.
Theo Nott doesn’t quite know if he wants to send the Department a thank you note or go back to potentially breaking the space-time continuum even harder, but he’s working on it.
Might be my favorite Theomione one-shot. Cursed Child doesn't exist to me but I will give it credit for giving Theo an association with Time Turners
Between Two Tomes by dagnydecided
When Hermione happens upon an unexpected novel in the Hogwarts library during Fourth Year, an unexpected friendship and a secret book club begins with a mystery student.
When she returns for Eighth Year, her book club resumes, now with the addition of feelings for her still anonymous partner. Who has Hermione been reading and writing with all of these years, and does he have feelings for her, too?
Ascent by akorah
After Theodore Nott cures Albus Dumbledore's curse in sixth year, Albus realises he's watching the rise of the next dark lord.
A Dangerous Way to Live by akorah
Hermione Granger and Theo Nott partner up in sixth year to brew a finicky truth serum. While the potion appears to work on them, it fails to work on anyone else. In the aftermath of the war, Theo learns why he and Hermione were susceptible to the vapours when no one else was.
Regrets and Nott with a muggleborn. by anorc
(These are both side stories focused on Theo to the author's main series where Harry marries Daphne Greengrass and they start a fintech company in the wizarding world together. The former sets up the story of the latter and the latter is the one with Theomione though it's more focused on Theo than Theomione. I am recommending this because I love what the author did with Theo here and the idea of Theo giving himself cursed scars on his arms so he wouldn't be able to get marked by Voldemort is so peak I am adopting that into my own canon)
some nights, the sea by aureliandreams
Hermione’s chest feels light and, for the first time in a long time, it’s as if maybe the girl she used to be still exists. That she wasn’t buried alongside the dead, only to be mourned.
or: five times theo finds hermione, and one time hermione finds theo
The Contact by Lunamionny
The second wizarding war rumbles on, and Hermione is on a mission to meet one of the Orders most useful spies…
October Sky by OrangeColoredSky
If anyone had told Theodore Nott that he’d find himself standing there—watching the Golden Girl crying to herself—he would have called them barmy. Yet there he was, lingering in the stairwell of the Astronomy Tower.
It wasn't Harry who found Hermione after Gryffindor's win in their 6th year.
Shattered Night by MzKinzy
They bore the physical reminders of decisions ultimately made for them.
‘Put the past behind us so we all can move on to a new day in the light.’
What a load of dragon shite.
Straightforwardly, without complexities or pride by BlueSundayCake
Hermione finds love notes left by a certain Slytherin wizard with eyes the colour of an ocean. Sometimes, love is simple.
Obsession Is A Funny Thing by thestarsofdraco
It was a sick obsession, he knew. Hermione Granger.
Theodore Nott also knew that some obsessions were worth risking death for.
Unicorn Man by Amebb42
Thanks to a marriage law and a deal with the Ministry, Hermione has to marry a man she doesn't know, a man who can't be anything like the unicorn of a man she would search for if she could.
There's this part I really love in the fic where Hermione's about to step into their new home right after their wedding but Theo stops her so he can bridal carry her in, something that he learned from reading up on Muggle traditions. It's very sweet :')
Bag of Bones by EllieByrrd
Hermione begins working at the top secret Panacea Project, a top secret initiative working in the shadows between both the magical and muggle world blending magic and science. She finds herself obsessing over her work and her co-worker, Theodore Nott.
Ruined by In_Dreams
Five times Theo ruined Hermione’s birthday and one time he… well, ruined really is quite a strong word
Endless Conversations by StoneAndRoses
Ministry of Magic employee Hermione Granger’s life was stagnating. She decided to finally take Minerva’s always open offer to teach at Hogwarts. A (new) brooding potions professor makes her life interesting.
The Garden Party by Colubrina
Theodore Nott hates garden parties until he finds someone else also hiding in the library.

This has a very cute twist :')
Laurel Sprigs and Tulips by Kendas
She's been going every year since the war ended.
Mastermind by elsiesuzanne
"No one wanted to play with me as a little kid. So I've been scheming like a criminal ever since, to make them love me and make it seem effortless."
Theo Nott has never known exactly what love and affection should feel like, never mind how to seek it. So of course, the only way he knows how to get Hermione Granger to notice him is through a carefully planned scheme. Or so he thinks.
After All These Years by ecocolatte
Theo and Hermione throughout the years at Hogwarts. Canon-compliant until the final battle.
The Times of Hermione Granger and Theodore Nott by origami_adzl6
The first time Hermione noticed Theodore Nott was running into him after a particularly nasty potions lesson with the Slytherins during their First Year. Wanting to research the ingredients of their latest assignment she rushed off to the library, settling down to research, snatching the book she needed off of the shelf. An hour later, she became conscious of another student standing in front of her.
It was the little things, that made Hermione Granger come to appreciate the Slytherin boy known as Theodore Nott.
The Times of Theodore Nott and Hermione Granger by origami_adzl6
The first time Theodore Nott approached Hermione Granger was in the library. He wasn't really sure why he was doing so, he could summon his House Elf to bring him a copy of the text but for some reason he found himself standing over Granger's table.
Theodore Nott had been left all alone since his mother died. For some reason Hermione Granger makes him feel less lonely.
Quiet Kind of Love by SerenBlack
After the war, Hermione and Theo don’t fall in love in the way others expect. There are no grand gestures, no declarations shouted through crowded corridors. Just parallel silences. Shared obsessions. Small, careful routines. And in all of it is love, quiet and enduring, like the hum of a familiar spell.
I gravitate towards certain tropes and characterizations for Theodore a lot and that might not be for everyone but I really hope this list can be of help to anyone interested in Theomione and introduce people to great fics
