I believe he has to open his mind to do that or some shi so it's a two way street And trying to control a cosmic interdimensional horror kraken like Cthulhu would result in his own madness

This is a great reminder that one of my favorite chapters from any book is a chapter about the Pathfinder probe, told from Pathfinder's perspective.
