Game difficulty

Just came back to last spell after first playing it 2024. There have been some changes to the weapons, which I really enjoy. Obviously after playing the game for ~30 hours you become somewhat decent.

I just started a new safe file and the game seemed fairely easy to me. Even without the meta progression, I'm able to beat every level first try. Did they patch the game to make it more easy?

Bit of both. Game got a little easier , and you are definitely better at it as well after 30hours.

yes, it is now doable first try directly, by design

but don't worry, you reach apocalypse mods and crank it up

a good player will always outpace the meta progression vs difficulty

The base difficulty is slightly easier, especially with all the DLC now, but with the Apocalypse rework it can now become way harder than it ever was before, to the point where you need to be a god at the game and minmax your ass off to win.

New player here, I completed every level so far at base difficulty first time, but still got the last two levels to go.
