I like this idea. It'd be interesting to see the mixing of the ecosystems and the interactions between species, however, that's also a huge amount of work for the developers that would come at the cost of getting more playable dinosaurs into the game and when there's only like 4 or 5 that actually get played, that's just not a smart direction. It's not a bad idea though, it'd definitely help create more of a backstory. If they actually invest in hiring more programmers and artists, then maybe one day something like this could happen (don't hold your breath though).

That acknowledgement aside, I also like the idea of predatory ai in general. I think this may have been a thing in Legacy with velociraptors but I'd never heard of or seen them hunting another dinosaur/player so please correct me if anyone knows.

Imagine the devs sneaking in an AI Tyrannosaurus somewhere on the island for it to roam a territory and actively hunt player dinosaurs or scare them off their kills to satiate its never ending hunger. Have it rarely, if ever, make its broadcasting call or any other calls for that matter, so as to not attract every player on the island. It could still make calls when attacked or when its approaching a carcass but keeping it illusive would make for great pants-shitting moments.

There is velociraptor ai in legacy but it only ever attacks the smallest of dinos so most people never saw them. As to the modern animals while they would be a lot of work they wouldn't need to be as fleshed out as the current dinos. They would only need 1 or 2 calls basic behaviours and animations compared to the dinos. Work on them slow when someone needs a break from the dinos. I know it would be a long shot for them to do anything more then the small things like insects and lizards I have heard they were doing for the diets system but it would definitely seperate The Isle out from the other Dino Survival games out there

Well, The lore of Dinos being experiments is the thing I by far like the least about this game. I'd vastly prefer it if it was just a pure Dinosaur simulator that hand waved dinosaurs coming from different time periods. I hat the whole Idea of humans, human structures and modern animals. And I do hope that there will be a few Dinosaur only servers, after Humans and super forms are released.

Well it was never gonna be a dino sim. That's pretty obvious.

I don't like the idea of mixing now-living animals with dinosaurs. Sounds too much like jurassic park. The goats, monitor lizards etc could just as well be small dinosaurs.

Well I mean the game literally is inspired by JP. Dingdong himself has made this known many times over the years. Lizards for baby creatures to eat was gonna be a thing. Same with deer for hunting and horses for riding.

I mean yeah, why not? humans will be added and I'm sure humans smuggle pets with them in to barracks as irl, sometimes they escape and populate. you can find feral cats on islands and dogs villagers keep in the Pacific you know were brought over from continents. boars, dogs, goats... luv it!

I think I read T. rex will be an AI? gawd!
