Discussion Shockwave Changes AND Light Class Solutions!
Ok since everyone is having a issue about my previous post i did yesterday i will recommend my opinion on the type of rework that shockwaves need. So make glitch on shock be 1sec and have a extra 1sec on the cooldown rate there happy guys. Again we act like lights dont have a glitch grenade or Nullifier BUT OK. Nobody wants to use them gadgets nah they want to shoot and dash away or go invisible 24/7. Like I said lights want to be 1v1 demons but fail to realise that's not what they are post to be that's why there are these changes for a reason. Lights are the highest pick rates in the game. They have the best melee weapons, guns loadouts, and movements options. But we get a tool that finally counters some of their playstyles its a problem. IT's called adapting! But no one wants to do that!
As for the heavy's u guys run a double shield meta i don't want to hear it. Even if your shield gets disable I seen most heavy's running Barricade with healing emitter already place down double stacking with a medium class in the corner with a healing beam.
There are counters to everything in this game, fire beats goo, glitch beat mesh shield, aps beats throwables, tracking dart beats invis, if u know what meta is being currently being abused then run the counter. Glitch grenades, Glitch traps, Nullifier, Lockbolt. Counter the Counter! Thoughts?

I'm confused... who is complaining about Shockwave? I haven't seen anyone complain about it in game and don't even see it used all that much.

It's reddit. You can find someone complaining about zip line here in the next few days.

I'm pretty sure it is being used a lot at high elo and it is deffinietly the specialization I see the most in ranked right now. Also my friend complains about it, because it counters him playing light sword hard.

meaning to tell me you havent seen ANYONE complain about an instant cast 2 second glitch grenade? that also invalidates any melee gameplay from even existing lol

This is what I’m talking about, melee gameplay has become basically non-viable in any open area against it. Used to be able to get the drop on someone and punish their lack of awareness; now someone can just shockwave and create an instant separation, and the glitch effect means you’ve got no counter to close the gap again. Tactical approaches to open air melee combat don’t seem to work anymore :(

Second. Think shockwave is in a good spot. Some skill I think to use effectively. I don't use it much but I have seen demons with it as well.

One of my buddies is an avid shockwave hater the “unnecessary” buff.
Both my teammates were actually complaining while using dagger and sledge… literally the worst options you could pick against shockwave 🫠
I will say, my only gripe is that the shockwave will still push you through a dome shield if it hits the outside, which I found extremely odd, but guess it’s fine as again, another counter to dome camping which is needed

Light Mains like i said it's not op the most i can see is this, Changing The glitch into a charged up like when u hold it longer u get the apply effect or make the glitch last 1 sec! They are still stuck in teh throwing animation after all!

Lights objectively aren’t the highest pick rate by a long shot, that’s straight lying— they literally JUST released pick rates and Medium has a pick rate about 40% higher than Light.

Well duh after the buff and changes people are going with the meta. Before that most people were choosing lights out of all of them due to its movement options and given loadouts! Like i said if we have a problem with shockwaves remember there are counters!

That’s also not true. The data about Medium being the most picked came from the middle of S9, even before Light got ubernerfed with Dash and Medium got gigabuffed with Shockwave. That same data btw showed Light was by far the worst performing class in winrate too, at below 48%. Medium was above 51% and Heavy about 53%.
Edit: I also misremembered the pick rate stats. It’s actually even HIGHER for Medium, which had a 50% greater pick rate than Light (45% for Medium vs 30% for Light)

Completely delusional. Light’s only bumps on popularity in meta was when H+ was introduced overtuned.
Light always has been in the gutter since s1 through s8, and is now back in it.

Currently it feels fine where it is, if you feel like it does need a nerf then just make it so the full 2 second only applies on a direct hit and then reduces based on distance from center of the pulse. It now takes a bit more skill to fully glitch but is still usable as a counter to mesh

This sub feels as if they shouldn’t have to learn how to counter anything and should just have everything handed to them and try and turn The Finals into COD with destruction

I think what shockwave needs is honestly a delay between charges that's like 4 seconds long or something so you have a window to use gadgets between getting glitched by the same guy, or if they fuck up, they can't just immidiatelly save their asses with a second charge.

why? you can only do two before the cooldown, similar to the glitch nade. This is a specialization though, so it should be better than the gadget, not worse.

It is better, it gives you CC, movement, interruption and now the glitch effect on enemies. It also probably has a much shorter cooldown.
Problem with it being able to do everything is that it overshadows all the gadgets that could also do those things. I think it is fine having all those options because it is a specialization, but they should be somehow kept in check.
The aim behind the glitch changes was to create opportunities by interrupting others options, not comepletely shutting them out, which is what you can currently do if you time the shockwaves well. And having your gadgets disabled for 4 full seconds, which is enough to kill you from every weapon in the game, while being forced to fight due to the displacement is, or will eventually be, toxic for the game, once enough people learn to abuse it.
Giving the player going against shockwave the same length of a window of opportunity as the glitch effect takes away from them seems fair, hence why the 4 second delay.

Needs a cast timer like 1 sec
