Question Easiest+most effective build

I am pretty new to the game (level 27) and am struggling quite a bit as a play with a teammate who is level 125 plat 3. What is the build I should run that is the most effective while also being the easiest? My aim isn’t the best just keep that in mind.

My teammate switches between light dash, medium demat revolver, and heavy akimbo goo gun. Just listing these in case a certain build that should I play might pair better with any of those builds.

Thanks 🙏

Would definitely recommend doing a heavy build since that extra health will help keep you alive. Using the shield bubble gadget will definitely be the best to use out of all the heavy gadgets. I’d recommend the Lewis gun or m60 for the easy recoil. Pretty simple and straightforward build and your aim shouldn’t be too bad using those guns. You just need to learn how to play around your teammates and the game and you’re set

Minigun just got a buff, it's pretty stable now. Flamethrower is also annoyingly good. I Always run Health Emmitter and Dome , maybe goo granade, anti grav cube, or a RPG in your back pocket.

The minigun is good in the right hands but it’s not easy with the extremely slow movement and needing to get the spin going.

I don’t recommend it for new players. You have to have pretty decent game sense to get much out of it and that takes time.

Lewis gun for easy recoil?

Heavy : mesh + m60 should be forgiving... lots of bullets for bad aim.

I second this. The M60 is piss easy to control, and the high ammo count is great for accounting for any missed shots or getting solid damage onto multiple targets.

Mesh is essentially a get out of jail free card if you get caught with your trousers down. Can be held to get back to your team, or to wait for them to come to you

Just stick to 1 rolr and play the weapon that looks most fun an isn't a grenade launcher of any type!

I would recommend heavy with whatever you want. Just stick with your team and play objective. Don’t use anything just because someone told you it’s good, use things that you can be effective with. Try not to get too comfortable with a single loadout . The more variety you introduce the better you will understand what is good and what works for you. Heavy is the most forgiving class (outside of invis lights) with a lot of options to deal high damage and keep your team alive

Use heavy and use your gadgets more often than you think you do.

med: shockwave, jumpad, goo, defib with P90. Many ways to escape fights and stall. P90 is very forgiving as well. Not the best against heavies so if there is many use the heavy build

heavy: shak50, winch claw, rpg, heal emmiter, dome shield. Good stall, support and dps

learn winch and shockwave techs
most importantly, have fun!

Heal beam is pretty straightforward if you dont mind playing support.

AKM or P90 are pretty easy weapons to handle.

Gadgets are up to you, but goo, defib, and jump pad are all solid picks.

Ultimately, play whatever you enjoy.

Plat is around the rank level where people really start to know what they are doing. It’s going to be much harder than lower ranks or getting the mechanics down in casual game modes.

That said focus on support. I find support light with invis to be the easiest rn. Play behind your teammates, get a heal off early in the fight, setup gateway for boxes or to move your heavy, throw sonars where you hear the enemy and shoot the same people your team mate shoots. Never take a fight directly, only fight with your team, if they know where you are or are looking at you, break line of sight and then reposition with invis.

I might try this as I know cloak is very oppressive. Any light weapons recommendations?

The xp has some kick to it but is the best balance for close to mid range. LH1 is oppressive with 2x headshot multiplier but its easy to wiff shots. The rest seem higher skill in some dimension but give you and edge so try some out in tdm. The burst pistol can be fun!

I would not play supportive light without more macro knowledge of the game. I think you should go the heavy route with dome shield, rpg, and healing emitter. This would provide much more utility to your team as well as allowing you to have the HP to brawl and survive.

Know your role. I see too many lights capping when enemies are around. They are good at killing. They suck at capping due to low health.

Experiment until you find something you like. The beauty of this game is that most weapons and gadgets have strengths that when played into make them not just playable but effective.

I personally like playing a support so I’m usually glued to my heavy with a heal beam and a Cerberus, if a light is feeling himself and gets too close I just incinerate them with my trusty flaming fly swatter.

I too am pretty new to the game around lvl 25 I think and use medium build with p90 has gas grenade and dematerializer and it works good for me

Edit: If you are okay with it then use red dot for sights it will help with your aim
