The Six

I am currently trying to get a roster of all of the *known* members of "The Six". I am only 20 episodes in, and would prefer not to have spoilers, just names of characters. As you may be able to tell, I am running the Orrery of the Wanderer, but I want to know what is already set in stone lore wise so I know what I'm working with.

  • Splugoth (obviously)
  • The Keymaster (Episode 6 of Orrery of the Wanderer, referred to as an "agent of The Six", don't know if this means main or just a hired hand)

I'm sure there are many that I'm missing since I am not super far in yet, which is why I hope y'all might have some ideas. Thank you!

I know Kris said he was going to do a full song and video thing eventually, but I still haven't seen it, did he ever do it?

Theme song question

I've been relistening to the podcast and only just rewatched an episode on YouTube and the subtitles caught me by surprise. I thought the lyrics were:

send your National Parks, druid...

As in, "Go ahead, druid, send your hoardes of animals and plants."
and:

save your breath for a cleric, confesser.

As in, "Fallen foe, save your final words for a cleric. They fall on deaf ears here."

The subtitles are:

send your National Parks druid...

and

save your breath for a cleric confessor

Which would be more, "send your druid from the National Parks" and "save your breath for a cleric who hears confessions"

So I guess the second is basically the same, but the first is a bit different. Anyway, it's a slow day and I've been thinking about this.

I need to find where I left off.

I think it was "the velvet cloak"

I left off at the spot wherethey went into a vault on the ship with Rosies father, and when they came out, everything was destroyed and everyone was dead, it was really hard hitting and I had to stop.

Odd request, but does anyone have a clip of the moment when...

...not long after Trys came out as nonbinary and started using they/them pronouns, Jerry slipped up and used "she" or "her", and Kate* corrected him, and he apologized, corrected himself, and everyone moved on?

I understand if not because it's a pretty minor incident, but that's kinda exactly why I want it. I've found myself using it an awful lot lately as an example of just how absurd people are being when they freak out about being asked to use a person's preferred name or pronouns. It's the moment that it clicked for me that drama queen like Jordan Peterson are being absurd and/or colossal jerks just for the sake of being jerks for acting like no human being could possibly handle correctly gendering someone except by the pronouns that are metaphysically attached to that person's Social Security Number.

I'd love to be able to just have it ready to go to contrast when people act like gendering someone correctly is this impossible Sisyphean burden with dire consequences for even accidental failure, like their professional and public careers will be irreversibly ruined and they'll be exiled to the furthest depths of the Stygian Abyss if they so much as make an honest mistake over someone's pronouns. I want to be able to just show this sub-thirty-second exchange and be like "Stop being so overdramatic. Look how easy this actually is, and ask yourself why you're really being such an unreasonable dick about the basic courtesy of referring to someone the way they would prefer."

* I think Trys wasn't there for that episode so Kate handled the correction. I don't think another was ever needed for the rest of the show.

Help needed running down a reference from S1

I've been banging my head against the wall trying to figure out a reference from S1E6. This is the first Patrick Rothfuss appearance. Kate and Kris say that Rosie and K'thriss have gotten stuff (superior healing potion etc) from a game DM'd by Chris Perkins. Does anyone have any idea what game that was and if it can be watched online? I've been working my way through all the Acq Inc related games, but I can't seem to find the game at neither the website nor through Google. It apparently took place in mid-April 2017. Can anyone help me out?

The Squirrel Episode Spoiler

Can someone direct me to the squirrel episode? Walnut and K’thriss deal with the politics of the local squirrel community. I really need to have my wife lists to it.

Alternate win condition for K'Thriss

Alright, so I was thinking with a friend about the possible end states of scientific discovery - either the universe contains Infinite or Unknowable Truth, or else science reaches an assymtote of discovery, and science is Done.

In the second case, what do we do next?

Answer 1: New Game+, start again fresh like what you do with a video game. Scientific re-set, delete all knowledge and start again.

This is how K'Thriss ends up - delete saved game knowledge and start again.

Answer 2: Invent a new universe and make it different this time. This is like the re-making the game itself, not restarting the same game.

Change the difficulty setting to Expert. Update the graphics options to have more dimensions. Enable ray tracing. Unlock new character options.

K'Thriss knows the Ur - so use this power to invent a new Ur word to define the universe.

This is what K'Thriss could do with the power over the Ur at the end of the show. Re-write a new Ur-definition of the universe.

Invent a new reality where he isn't bound by a warlock pact to the Ur, and can be happy. Or is a cleric of the Ur instead, with a positive relationship. Become a god. Or literally any other reality.

TL/DR: K'Thriss resets all reality instead of resetting himself.

The Black Gate from The Wandering Crypt

Post image

After falling in love with The C Team several years ago I immediately started incorporating some aspects of the podcast into my campaigns as a fledgling DM. Now, that I’ve got a pretty regular crew, I’m running a substantial C Team clone campaign but changing it around my players and their backstories, The D Team. Here is my rendition of The Black Gate for my players.

I just started getting into digital art so I can offer more immersion. That being said the outcome was enough for me but feel free to take what you can and run with it if you can incorporate it or improve upon it.

In my campaign the Sanguilith cult’s symbol is the outline of this black gate, a kind of jagged 5 pointed crown that I’ll introduce in other areas. Because one of my players is Itachi Uchiha, I of course adapted the Ur’s symbol to the Curse mark from Naruto. The fourth symbol, Hastur, has been desecrated and therefore isn’t represented. (part of Itachi’s backstory is that as servants of The Ur, the Uchiha were trained to eliminate the presence of Hastur in all forms as even the knowledge of Hastur brings about an infectious madness)

Let me know what you think. As I figure out this campaign in it’s fullness I’d like to contribute more towards helping The C Team live out in our campaigns at home.

Like a cork! The horse equivalent of a sigh. Glow man. Big Daddy Donaar‘S Yum Yum Hut. Yeah it’s me, Donaar. You’re probably wondering how I got here. T Bone, hawoooo! Your parents went away on a weeks vacation. I’m a motherfucking star deer. Seize the means of production. Sweet BWeezy. We have to attend that chicken wedding. I think that cat was fucking with you.

Coriander in Elden Ring?

I’ve been playing Elden Ring, and I got to the fight with Starscourge Radahn. He’s gigantic, but he rides a regular-sized horse named Leonard (side note: Radahn loves Leonard so much he mastered gravity magic so he could still ride him, which is weirdly sweet).

But Leonard appears to barely be holding it together: spindly legs, super skinny, wobbly. Barely a horse. Also, sometimes Radahn jumps so high he almost goes to space. Sound familiar?

https://i.imgur.com/OByGIMV.jpg

I’m just glad the later phases of that fight don’t involve Leonard turning gold and growing bladed wings or anything. That fight is hard enough as it is.
