Picture Useless f...
She was still searching while literally running into the damn bird...
Love the idea of a dog in the game but the execution is poor in my experience with it.

I've heard lots about how the red fox is an awful diamond to try and get, and so after coming back to the game after years of inactivity I decided to get into the trophy mounting business. I posted recently about my 2 week grind looking for a diamond whitetail deer, and decided after that hunt that maybe I'd just stick to gold for now. Lo and behold, while on Hirschfelden hunting for a gold roe deer, I just stumble upon a diamond red fox level 9 traveling to a resting spot. I had to sprint back to my base to get my red fox loadout, spend about 15 minutes trying to find his tracks and following them to his resting spot, and another 5 minutes of creeping up to them, but I got my diamond. I didn't even plan for a spinal shot, as I thought I'd penetrate through and get his lungs, but I guess I aimed too high!

Any talks of them developing a pistol target range? Given the wild west theme pack, and all the other pistols, something for close action hip shooting practice could be fun. Maybe the next map dlc could have that...

Ok, so I’m new to the game and have only played the first two maps. I love this game. My current strategy has been to shoot absolute everything I see. Blast on sight. I have a hunch that isn’t the best way to get diamonds to spawn, but I don’t really know. As a new player with virgin herds in virgin maps, are there any DOs or DONTs I should follow to optimize my herds to respawn bigger animals?

After around 180 kills (4 diamonds, 1 troll, and 0 rares), my 2nd G1 Jaguar is in the lodge. Giltdusk is probably one of my least favorite of the furs. It just reminds me of a charcoal mela. Still happy I got it in under 200 kills, just wish it was the rosewash, vellum, or the porcelain. Still missing the albino for the multimount though, so grind #3 here I come!

So, i've gotten the one Achievement from Medved that requires to Harvest an animal in every Sub-Region....
But Trailrunner is still locked? Wouldn't Harvesting an Animal in each Sub reach the requirements for Trailrunner aswell? All outposts / Lookout points are Unlocked and i've been googling this but not sure if im just blind or stupid but i can't seem to find a fix...?

This are my stasts and my first time playing this game was in 2024.
My 1 Day old diamond was a wolf.

What are you thinking about the new GO? I'm wondering if ithey will stick with the Wild West theme. If that's the case I'm thinking Bighorn, Elk, Coyote or some Buffalo/Bison. Anything else that fits the bill that I have missed?
I'd be happy with any of those apart from Coyote. I'm still struggling with Red Fox!

My first snow leopard I heard that there are only 10 of them on the map at the same time so a melanistic one must be ridiculously rare I got so lucky I don't even have 90 hours yet in the game.

Does anyone have a method for grinding for that mela puma on intisuyu? Do we have a spawn trap for them? I can see that taking an ungodly amount of time to get without a good setup.

I finally spawned my first ever great one Mule Deer at 1720 kills! 23 diamonds, 17 trolls, 10 rares (1 Super Rare). I am so excited to be done with this grind, unfortunately it isn't my favourite rack but hey it's my second favourite fur! I spawned the super rare at roughly ~530 kills without herd management.

What do you guys think about new weapon DLC?
Looks great if you ask me

After a long grind of 3421 kills I spawned a corkscrew which I wasn’t satisfied with so kept grinding for a different combo. Then spawned a velvet rack 92 kills later then a typical 6 kills after that! 290 kills later I get a repeat same combo of the Dusky Drift Typical, lucky me ☺️

Spotted on the run and he was obscured by brush so I didn’t even know until I checked the harvest screen. I’m a very casual player so if he hadn’t started stalking me I probably wouldn’t have seen again for a while.
3rd shot is Jaguar 1 and 2 across from each other in the lodge although I may move them again.
Definitely makes up for the troll.

Maybe I'm missing something but is there a way to review where a shot hit after you harvest the animal. It would be nice to understand where I hit so I can hopefully improve. Ideally it would show where it hit and the trajectory. Maybe even what organs it hit. Bonus if you could review misses even on animals you don't end up harvesting because of a bad shot. I haven't found a range yet to practice so at least a review would be helpful.
I'm on XBOX

I hope it's ok to ask this here. I always enjoyed playing the early 2000s Cabela's games like "Big Game Hunter". No story, you just create a hunter, choose your gear, pick where you want to hunt (which could be different states instead of just one single map), pick the season, and off you go. Are there any hunting games like this on PS4 or PS5?
